Bad trade unless Memphis walks away with a franchise player at 10. Val was massive for them last year. NO seemed pretty desperate to deal Bledsoe, hard for me to believe that they would have walked away if Val and Adams were left out of the deal.

Wait, people actually think New Orleans won this deal?? Picking from 10 instead of picking from 17 in the draft is a big difference IMO. David Griffin got fleeced. He is such a terrible GM, he trades a first round pick for Steven Adams last off-season, and now has to move back 7 spots in the draft just to dump his terrible contract.

It’s not that bad, they pick up a 1st and move up a bunch to the top 10. Also remember that Adams is good, he just wasn’t righ for the Pells. And Bledsoe can play a solid role on the grizz too.

They barely made the PO last year, the point is to get good good and not just maintain. This seems like a move they could easily win, even if it doesn’t look good at first glance.

Really? Difference between 10 and 17 in this draft could possibly be like Moody/Wagner vs Jared Springer, and i dont really see a huge difference between them as prospects. Some teams got different big boards and tiers obv, but there's not much difference in prospect talent 10-20

Memphis should have demanded the 2022 NO 1st be unprotected, then it would be an even trade. I don't think it's as one sided as people make it out to be. Adams looked bad in NO but if we so OKC Adams back then it'll look a lot better.

I don't know why people like it so much for the Pelicans, Griffin just wasting assets left and right for nothing

Not a fan of Griff at all but he got Jonas, the best player in the trade and actually got rid of Bledsoe. It was a decent trade for them. Hence, why everyone is questioning if Memphis was inebriated before making the trade.

Big price to pay to move up 7 spots... they must be 100% locked in on somebody

I don't get this trade for Grizz, other than they love someone at 10. NO is obviously positioning to retain Lonzo or lure Lowry. This is the only way to make sense of this weird swap.

I love it for Memphis.

- They used their cap space to trade up from #17 to #10 and from #51 to #40 by eating Bledsoe's salary.

- They flipped Val for Adams who is a better fit for JJJ and added another future FRP (2022 LAL) on top.

I feel bad for the Pelicans. They traded Jrue for Bledsoe, Adams + two meaningless future FRPs and swaps from Milwaukee and now they are paying to get rid off the two main pieces they traded for Holiday.
