Trying today for #1 so they can say to Cleveland #3 Is not ideal for them? ;)

Wonder what's a legitimate offer but no way we go from 6 to 1 without SGA included. Gotta hope Cleveland will accept a pretty good offer but feels like they REALLY like Mobley too :(

Also Presti really likes Bouknight so probably not willing to gamble that much to move up.

I'm content with Bouknight. Thunder are good at drafting high character guys and developing them well. I think he will turn out to be a borderline all-star player.

I think we could build out this roster with All-Star, borderline All-Star guys and still be a team that competes for championships. Don't always need a superstar to win.

Yep, I agree with this completely. Bouknight could be a CJ McCollum level player with better defense. I think Shai can be on the same level as Dame. Although Portland only made one WCF, what if they had the assets to trade for George when he was available? That’s a realistic path I can see for us.

Or maybe they just REALLY like him so OKC ups the offer. Everything's noise until I see a Woj tweet confirmation that a deal is final.

Could be the case. Problem is that Mobley would be a first pick in a lot of drafts and there's a huge gap between 3 & 6.

Unlike past years, we HAVE the assets to trade up. If it doesn’t happen, that tells me that Sam doesn’t think it’s worth it. I’m fine with that at this time. Time will tell.

Yeap we do have the asset to move up to #3 but not #1. There’s just a lot more going to #1 as the best player from this draft that future picks can’t overcome (marketing , fans expectation etc) .

I’m fine with either way. And I just realise 5-8 is a hard range to draft into cause everyone there have multiple picks so if we want trade up with our later first we now have just 9,11-12 .

The rumor is that Weaver/DET turned down SGA and 6 for 1. I find it interesting, and if DET turned that down, I can’t imagine they’ll get a better offer.

Has to be a money thing. Shai gets expensive right when Blake’s money comes off, pushing forward a timeline Weaver doesn’t want to push. Not surprising, really, considering how much time he worked directly with Presti.

Anyway, good luck this week. Hope you can get 3.

Yeah we all know we won't trade Shai, even less to Detroit or Cleveland. Starting to feel better with Bouknight at 6 even if I badly want to move up to 3 to draft Mobley. Presti probably gonna try even if he likes Bouknight so not much to complain if we can't.
Lottery was a mess and 6th is a terrible position since it's a 4 players draft and Barnes is clearly the guy at 5 that can make things change.
Just hope Presti will make good moves with 16, 18, 35 and 36 (maybe using some 2023 protected FRPs) so we can draft 3 very nice prospects. Also hope we can take profit of teams willing to dump salaries...less options after the Bledsoe/Adams trade yesterday :(

I have to remind myself that we live in a world where SAS and Skip Bayless are preferred to Zach Lowe and Sam Amick.

Don't forget Kemba Walker in this trade/draft talks.

Walker and 6'pick to the Raptors for Anuoby, Boucher and the 4'pick ? SUGGS ?
Walker and 6'pick to the Cavs for Love and the 3'pick ? MOBLEY .So the Cavs get rid of Love's contract. Love could be a good veteran presence for the Thunder

What can we get for the 16' and 18' pick? May be 11 or 12 ?

I don’t think you’ll find many okc fans that believe this is true. I said before that this deal doesn’t make sense for either side. Detroit has no need to rush things and okc would be dumb to trade shai. He’s the kind of player everyone wants to draft.

Walker has negative trade value. Won't help to move up in the draft or get guys like Boucher.

Think we may get 11 or 12 with 16 and 18 yeah. No idea if it's worth it though

Read on Twitter

Bouknight at 6, Trey Murphy at 16, Jalen Johnson at 18. Mentions that we continue to push to move up.

Read on Twitter

I'll update if Vecenie changes his mock for us, he's keeping a live blog running from now til draft time.

In this version he has Bouknight at 6, Kai Jones at 16, Ziaire at 18.

"As I wrote last week, Bouknight has been seen as the most likely player to crash into the top six. At that time, I felt like it was basically a toss-up on Kuminga versus Bouknight based on the intel, as sources indicated the Thunder have been high on Bouknight throughout the pre-draft process. At this point, it feels much more likely to be Bouknight over Kuminga given the opinion of sources around the league. Having said that, the Thunder are a notoriously secretive front office, so it’s possible there could be some smokescreening in regard to preferences. There will also be trade discussions here, as the Thunder are seen league-wide as a team that wants to move up in the draft order. But Bouknight has increased his standing league-wide with a terrific pre-draft process where he’s convinced teams about his shooting acumen despite substandard numbers in college due to contextual situations."

Man I would love to snag Mobley and we do have a glaring hole at center but I don't want to miss out on Bouknight. He and Shai together will be special man. We could maybe trade up for Mobley and still trade back up for Bouknight. Who knows. I'd be cool with that. We got all those future picks for situations like this.
