The Knicks are considering a one-year deal that would trump, the thinking goes, a multi-team offer in single-year salary. The Mavericks are thought to be pursuing a two-year deal for Lowry.

There’s always room for Lowry to change his mind, but the thought process right now is that you need to be willing to put serious money in front of him to gain his services.

A 1 year 50 mil dollar deal???!!!!!!!

Throwing the bag at Lowry for one year reeks of no planning and seems unimaginative / lazy which is exactly why I believe the report.

I’d honestly rather go for Lonzo than Lowry at this point. But for one year, I guess.

I guess everyone is off the Lonzo train huh? He still has room to grow and become that playmaker we saw at UCLA imo…

I don’t see this regime giving up on Obi so quickly. He was their first pick. I like the idea of having some Randle insurance, especially if he doesn’t re-sign this off-season.

We’ve been playing the off court game well the last two years if you ask me. Keep up with the short term deals and young guys with upside.

they're just trying to buy themselves time until a star wants to come here but the ones they're dreaming about for 2022 probably won't be available. oh well.

The real tragedy is we will get shut out yet we have youth, talent, picks, good coach AND the most cap space...while fresh off a playoff appearance! That's how bad the stigma of the Knicks is.

knicks spending another year not getting a good draft pick so they can compete for a playoff spot to try to attract guys who probably don't want to come here and likely won't be available anyway. brilliant.

Everything in your post is what we should be doing to get guys to come. It's what good teams do. Everything except get shut out in the end. Dark cloud overhead.

We could easily make this thing really fun if we stop being so head strong about trying to persevere space for free agencies that never materialize and start using the cap space to take on bad contracts for assets. That’s how we put ourselves in a desirable position. Could always do a mad salary clearing scramble if the opportunity for that star arises.. but this.. this is like chasing a shooting star in the sky
