Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
The more I hear about Hornets interest in Turner, I don't think it would include 11. Rick Carlisle is the new coach and all we are hearing is they want guys to help them compete now and even have rumors of them wanting to trade 13.
Not sure of the parameters of the deal, but I think it would be unlikely to trade 11. Maybe trade Rozier for Turner? then take a replacement for Rozier at 11?

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Bagley would be a pretty potent rim-runner with LaMelo.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I would offer Kings a 2022 pick swap and McDaniels for Bagley. I am sure they are looking for some team to fork over some veteran that can help them win 5 extra games though.

Bagley is a fun fit offensively but at some point we're going to have to get some better defenders on this team

preferably a big time shot blocker who can clean up all the **** ups the rest of the team makes on the perimeter. If only the league's top shot blocker last season was on the trade block hmmmmmmmmmm....
Bagley is the total opposite, he deserves more credit for PJ's 40 point game than PJ does lol
investigate Adam Silver

Heck yeah! We beg for rim protection, rebounds, some good defense and offensive output from a 5 with size. Why NOT Myles Turner?
He has been noted for his quality defense in previous seasons. He has true 3 point effective range, a good rebounder, decent passer, decent athleticism, just 25 years old! I’m more than happy to make that trade, deal Hayward, get back a decent player along with Turner, and keep our 11th pick. Here are Turner’s regular season stats in the shortened season:
STATS
Regular Season (top line)
Career (second line)
GP MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
47 31.0 47.7 33.5 78.2 6.5 1.0 3.4 0.9 3.5 1.4 12.6
389 28.6 48.7 35.2 77.0 6.6 1.2 2.2 0.7 2.9 1.3 12.7
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

there is no reason Indiana would include 13 there. Gordon, #11 for Turner, Lamb should still be an easy yes for Charlotte. I'd honestly be ecstatic with that deal.

Pacers were offering McDermott and Turner for Hayward last year. Why all of sudden would we need to throw in a lottery pick? We have more leverage then the Celtics had and you want us to give up more?

The issue is Gordon straight up for Turner doesn't work, Turner only makes 18m per year compared to Gordon's 30. So we'd have to take someone back.
Lamb is also expiring, so he seemed like a natural fit. Trading for Gordon would make one of their wings expendable too. The pick swap is included just as a bonus, I don't think Lamb has a lot of value outside of his salary. He only played 20 minutes per game last year and missed over half the season. He only played 46 games the previous season before too.

I can see the attraction with Turner, is he a good rebounder though? His averages are pretty meh

Before or after he signed a massive deal?

Nope. He literally blocks shots and shoots average from deep and doesn’t want to do much else. Kinda disappointing for his skill set so far

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Turner’s Games Played is what has me most concerned:
‘15-‘16: 60
‘16-‘17: 81
‘17-‘18: 65
‘18-‘19: 74
‘19-‘20: 62
‘20-‘21: 47
For all the Hayward proposals, the injury concerns might be a wash. But what if Rozier leaves next offseason? Our scorers are gone. Sure we’d have cap room to replace them. But I feel like we’d be doing the exact opposite of what we should be doing with Melo on a rookie contract. We need to be adding, not subtracting.

Another opinion and not a statement of fact.
Team shopping a F/C? Hornets must be involved.

I wonder what it would take to move up to 9 with the Kings? Would taking on Bagley and thereby removing ourselves as a threat to sign Holmes be enough?
Bagley and 9 for 11?
Bagley and 9 for 11?

If we're helping a team create cap room I'd prefer to get a better fit than Bagley. I hope Mitch has at least considered taking on Favors. If he's healthy I like him just as much as any of the available free agents.

If we could figure out a way to get a LaMelo-Shai backcourt that would be pretty amazing

What is OKC doing? Why would they move on from SGA... What are they building around?
They've got a bajillion draft picks already, can't imagine they want a lot more.

They must feel strongly that one of Cunningham, Mobley or Green are better than SGA.
Be interesting if SGA ends up on his 3rd team in as many years.
