I imagine timeline with CADE would be to have him cheaper and not have to pay SGA.

Pistons I believe would do the deal if they could get pick 3 along with sga and draft mobley to finalize roster to a degree.

SGA and Mobley sounds a lot better than SGA and kuminga or bouknight etc. Someone will have to pay SGA and he'll be worth it. But to have another 5 years of cheap superstar is helpful and is held at a high value.

And just see all the crazy deals that nba teams make. It's the way of fans to always want more than they can get.

Detroit got squat for Andre (because he's worth squat) and got more with the money with Jerami Grant by virtually dropping Andre Drummond..... just like the Cavs..... just like the lakers will.... Of course SGA is a much better player without a doubt.

Don't forget Kemba Walker in this trade talks.

Walker and 6'pick to the Raptors for Anuoby, Boucher and the 4'pick ?
Walker and 6'pick to the Cavs for Love and the 3'pick ? So the Cavs get rid of Love's contract. Love could be a good veteran presence for the Thunder

If okc doesn’t want to pay shai, they should just disband the franchise.

Welcome to the boards. I don’t think most people (thunder fans included) think Kemba has that kind of value, especially before he gets on the court and shows what he can or can’t do.

I think the only way this is a true rumor would be Presti seeing Mobley as the next KG/AD caliber guy and rolling the dice on him.

I dont see how you make this move for Cade. Or anyone else for that matter. The chances they are tiers better than SGA (Not to mention the pick 6 addition) is just very small IMO.

Yeah I already don't like a Cade/SGA swap but would undersand if timeline is an issue. But SGA +6...

Sam could offer SGA + (1)6 if he really wants first pick

A couple of thoughts…

If it is true, I hope there is something Sam knows that we don’t know about Shai’s desire or lack of to being in okc. I would be extremely disappointed to trade him just for a timeline reset.

If it’s not true, I hope after the draft Sam comes out and says they are 100% false and are committing towards building around shai.

Ok with you but what kind of value does Love have? The Cavs can get rid of him too.

Really don't know what to make of this. Babcock and Wasserman are both reputable sources, but it's tough for me to believe that Sam and Troy would let something like this leak out after working together for over a decade. And if it were to get out and not be picked up by one of Woj/Shams? Just doesn't add up.

If true, then that's wild by both OKC and Detroit. I can't imagine there's a realistic package out there better than this for #1, and we must really think Cade has a ceiling that SGA isn't reaching.

Either way this is going to be a long couple of days waiting for everything to unfold.

No way Presti offered SGA + #6 for Cade but starting to think that he's willing to listen offers about SGA. I don't like it but it makes sense since SGA trade value should be very high right now and timeline might be an issue (mostly for SGA)

If it’s true, I’m somewhat put off by this. We kicked the down the road by holding on to cp3 and Gallo. We cost ourselves a spot by winning the clippers game. Trading shai just resets things again. If it is true but doesn’t happen, it feels like a countdown starts as to when he’ll be moved. I’d rather just get it over with.

I can't see a SGA + 6 trade either.

I can see a SGA trade though. Not opposed to it, but would require a different return.

I could see that the deal was reported in part. Maybe an SGA + 6 for #1 + 2022 DET unprotected FRP?

I can see a SGA trade but not for Cade. Number one pick has a lot of hype involved ($$$) and SGA isn't that guy YET.

If OKC is willing to move Shai, plenty of teams will come with pretty good offers and maybe with more value than the the Shai for Cade one.

Firstly, a quick disclaimer: Until I read this offer confirmed by Woj or Shams, I will remain dubious as to the reports validity.

Having said that, I do think that Shai is a little too far along for our current timeline. His presence alone on the court will prevent us from effectively tanking. We all saw last season how difficult it will be to lose with him here.
We may have to accept that we can't have our cake and eat it. Maybe, in order to create the team that Sam Presti is envisioning, we will have to sacrifice SGA. I really enjoy watching Shai though and would hate to see him leave, so I go back and forth on what we should do.

One thing is for sure though, beating the Clippers on the last day of the regular season was monumentally stupid. There would be no question of Shai leaving if we had just achieved a top 3 or 4 pick.

We don't know about that. I was pissed about that game but we lost 8-10% chances of a top 4 pick. Orlando ended up with the 3rd worst record and are 5th in the draft. We just got REALLY unlucky in the lottery.

If Shai is too good for our rebuild, you trade a lot of picks to improve your roster and build around him. You only trade him if he isn't fully committed to OKC.
