Lowry is probably the best case for the knicks as Thibs dont want to baby no point guard. 3/75 team option for 3rd year maybe?

They aren’t trading RJ for Ingram, if they do trade Rj which isn’t likely it will be used to acquire a guard

Lowry was starting to look a bit washed last season.. just our luck we’ll pay him that and he’ll come here and look like a shell of himself for 2 seasons

it will at least keep them in the hunt for the 4-6 playoff spot in the east. they could still easily lose in the 1st round though.

I was cogitating on this plan since last year. But a 3 year deal for Lowry has to be a deal breaker. Too much risk.

Yea it can easily fail. Maybe we get lucky and go further in the playoffs, then attract a big free agent in 2022. Wishful thinking since we’re the Knicks but you never know lol

I would be for Lowry and Derozan. 3 year deals. I think those are long enough for a player to not feel like/treat it like they're just rentals and invest in the team and also are more competitive than offering 2 year deals

Derozan just seems like a bad fit to me. I know he is good and can get buckets. Just hard for me to get behind him.

Sounds like Lowry would be a 1 year big contract. Allows us to dip in again next year or make a trade.

Lowry just Grant Hilling fat Leon Rose so he can extract another year out of Miami or the 76'ers or whoever he really wants to play with, which isn't the Knicks.

This is exactly my feeling, too. My head says he's a productive player, but it's so unconventional in today's game that things need to be really right before he gets there for his signing to have the most impact. I can't envision him as a major building block piece, which is what he'd be if the Knicks picked him up.
