only for the #1 pick. we don't have that pick.

True, it might not happen this summer, but the fact this information got leaked leads me to believe they don’t see him as some sort of untouchable franchise cornerstone

We’ll need to swoop in when the time is right

he was never a franchise player (Shai) so he should be not untouchable. at least he hasn't developed into a franchise player in most people's books.

I, like probably many, just randomly have been posting my ideas based on rumors but I also like to see the roster layout:
- Suggs at 4 (or SGA)
- Preston at 46
- Culver for 47 & Hood
- Simmons for Lowry S&T and a 2022 first - operating over the cap
- re-sign GTJ
- Noel with the MLE
- Birch with the BAE

FVV / Flynn / Preston
Suggs or SGA / Culver
OG / GTJ
Siakam / Boucher / Yuta
Simmons / Noel / Birch

I might be OK with trading Pascal to the Warriors if we can get SGA out of it.

1. Trade Pascal for Wiseman, Wiggins, #7 and #14
2. Trade #4, #7 + Wiseman for SGA + #6
3. Draft Kuminga, Davion, Queta, Livers
4. Sign Jarett Allen
5. Sign GTJ, Birch
6. Guarantee Boucher, Bembry, Yuta, Watson

Allen/Birch/Queta
OG/Boucher/Yuta
Wiggins/Kuminga/Watson/Livers
Fred/GTJ/Davion
SGA/Malachi/Bembry

Fix our perimeter scoring and front court issues:

1) Trade Pascal for Wiggins + #7 + #14
2) Trade #4 + #7 (or future FRP) for #3 and Love (we renounce Lowry and non-guarantees to create enough cap space)
3) Draft Mobley at #3.

Guards: FVV, Flynn
Wings: Wiggins, OG, GTJ
Bigs: Mobley, Love, Birch

I would not;
But I am likely higher on OG than most.

I am not fan of Simmons;
But I am a fan of a good ol' bargain.

If Morey decides he doesn't enjoy being a GM in the NBA anymore and agrees to a deal that is based around even Lowry, Boucher (or Boucher converted into a late first) and a Future FRP from Toronto and something light on the back end like Bembry I would take that deal and run.

I just don't think that Simmons value is that low.

I don’t think any specific transaction is ridiculous.

Trade Pascal for #7, #14, Wiseman, Wiggins
Trade #4, #7, Wiseman for SGA, #6
Trade #6, Wiggins for #3, Love
Draft Mobley, Davion, Queta, Livers
S&T Lowry + 2023 protected 1st for Simmons
Trade Simmons for Sabonis, Lamb
Sign GTJ, Birch
Guarantee Boucher, Bembry, Watson, Yuta

Mobley/Birch/Queta
Sabonis/Boucher/Love/Yuta
OG/Lamb/Watson/Livers
FVV/GTJ/Davion
SGA/Malachi/Bembry

Interesting, you wouldn’t do this unless you were potentially looking to add Hood to a deal for Salary matching. No real plan on exercising his $10 mill option to stay with the Raps, I hope!

Alright here’s the deal. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire about this Ben Simmons interest.

Kyle Lowry and OG Anunoby
for
Ben Simmons and Seth Curry

I love OG, but Simmons is better than him.

Lowry’s gone, so we use this as an opportunity to build for the future. Curry is a good 6th man shooter who can be flipped for a future 1st.

This is so exciting! I've been through Cavs potentially reaching so many times now, and am never disappointed.

So the Raptors absorb Love's contract? He's pretty bad, always injured and makes big coin. I would think absorbing his contract is worth trading up from 4 to 3 on it's own. As I do like Mobley. Maybe do not renounce CB but instead add him to the Cavs as he's a good deal and would seem to fit their team? A protected FRP to the Cavs if needed. No way #7 if Love is coming back.

Love + 3 for CB + cap space +4 + perhaps future FRP. That work? That, or if the Cavs prefer straight cap space trade CB for capspace and a SRP. His contract seems too good to just renounce.

Then with #7 draft one of Kuminga/Segun/Giddey/Bouknight/Moody or whoever. It would be exciting if nothing else hah.

so essentially pascal + 4 for love wiggins and 3
and we lose all option of resinging lowry or s&t him
plus no full mle

I just read on "the scores" Instagram that Morey officially wants Lowry, VanVleet, OG and the #4 Pick for Simmons hahahahahaha

It's easy to bias trades for your own team so I'm probably overly generous to the Cavs in trying to compensate for that. I think Love can still play but he is just over being in Cleveland. I'd expect him to do a lot better with a change of scenery in a winning situation. Obviously, the team would have to really believe in Mobley to make this kind of move.

You can't have everything. If the team is really high on Mobley (and they'd have to think he's their future to do this) then they have to trade up. Let's say we re-sign Lowry, is Lowry-Suggs better than Wiggins-Love-Mobley? Or in a S&T for Simmons (even though that's probably unrealistic), we'd have Simmons-Suggs vs. Wiggins-Love-Mobley? I guess it really depends on how good you think Suggs and Mobley will be.

Love and Wiggins also expire a year before Pascal so that'll be over $60M off our cap sheet in 2023.

So we see how easy it is for teams to move salary. Kings want Holmes back, and will look to shed contracts to allow them to pay him more than the MLE.

Of course, they may have to present the prospect of winning to Holmes to convince him to re-up, so this might not be that easy. But if Kyle walks, Raps can absorb Bagley into cap space, maybe sending a 2nd back to the Kings.

I think you are giving Love too much credit. He is owed $30M the next two years. He's the definition of a pylon on defense. His attitude quite frankly has stunk. And oh yeah, he's always injured. Lucky to get 50 games out of him in a season. That and I think I would rather have 4 + 7 more than just #3.

Love + 3 for capspace + 4 and a future protected FRP. That's the most I would do to move up for Mobley. Just take Suggs and whoever at 7 otherwise if the GSW trade went through.

Ben Simmons is not better than OG Anunoby. Perhaps at playmaking and just a little better defensively due to the increased size but when you consider OGs age, contract and shooting, I'm taking OG every time.
