Wizards Summer League — w/ An Intriguing Name on the Roster!
Mason Jones!
Who shot 51.5% from 3 for Houston in his first 15 games and then … I don’t know what happened/what he did/what the deal was/why he’s not there anymore.
But who cares?
He’s here.
Promising!
I know PIF, in particular, will be pumped …

Here's a good article on Jones

Kind of funny talks about what a good signing it is, but then he was waived 10 days later...
Interesting note his brother is Matt Jones who played at Duke btw.

I do like him a lot, it's true. Mason Jones can score the ball, period. He also sees the court pretty well & is a reasonable rebounder. If he's worked hard in the last year, he can be a player -- a pretty good player -- in this league.
How about a link to the roster!!? I can't find it.

Badinage -- where did you come up with this? I can find nothing about it anywhere online.

Also I doubt we put this team out for a bit cuz we might go from taking 15 to having 3-5 picks this year if we trade brad and Russ

I'd still love to see a source on Mason Jones being part of our SL team.

Remember, being on the Wiz SL team does not give the Wiz his NBA rights in any way. Any other team can sign him to an NBA contract.

True enough, but all things being equal it should give the Wiz an advantage with his agent. If there's an offer, the Wiz may well get the chance to sign him at those terms.
Or not. Plus, although I do like Jones, let's not forget that he was undrafted & didn't stick with either Houston or Philly. Might be one or another problem there....

If the Wiz do have Deni play in the SL, they should run the offense through him and see how it goes. It could give them a better feel for his long-term potential and perhaps boost his confidence. Or it could do nothing.
