I don't think it's impossible for him to make it to us. One of the PGs will; just a matter of which one. There's currently 8-10 PGs that are regularly mocked in the first round. In all likelihood, at least one of two of those will slip to 31.

I don't expect Cooper to be the one that does, but we're going to have a talented PG fall in our lap.

Any chance that Ayo could end up something like Jrue? He's got that same kind of build with long arms, lots of enthusiasm, and a questionable jumpshot. :)

There's definitely times that he looks kinda like him. Kinda goes without saying that a late 1st/early 2nd round prospect probably won't end up being Jrue but that's definitely what his next team will be hoping for.

And Butler... my gut feeling is he's going to slide. Even though he's been medically cleared to play, people will have that little doubt in the back of their minds - especially when it comes to a player who's a little bit limited physically - he's not an explosive athlete, and he's a bit lacking in length. But he's a high IQ tough focused guy with skills that fits what Milwaukee wants. And dude is a winner. It'll be interesting to see who does better - him or Mitchell. Mitchell probably goes top 10, but I wouldn't bet against Butler.

Ha, he plays in the 4th league in Spain.

How does the 4th league in Spain compare to the 4th league in Greece? 8-)

The more I look into the mid-late first round prospects and mock drafts, the more comfortable I get with our draft position. A number of nice players will be there at 31. I just hope we don't draft an unknown, swing-for-the-fences-but-most-likely-a-bust Damien Inglis style pick.

We won the championship. We’re on the other side of the fence. We’re just looking to stay on this side right now IMO this draft.

I agree with the above comment though, Cooper would solve so many things on this team offensively when we stall. Let me ask, can we trade our first next year this year as long as we get a pick this year? Or do we also need to find a first for 2023? The more I’m watching Cooper lately, the more I love him. Guy can’t shot? Who cares, he draws fouls when he drives, hits his FTs, and can run the offense and let Giannis, Jrue, and Middleton play off ball sometimes. I’d seriously consider trading next years first for this years first for Cooper, don’t really care for the other guards as difference makers, but I feel Cooper could be the Rondo to a 3 star trio type player. Especially since he allows Jrue to focus on scoring off the ball, not isolation which Jrue I feel struggles with.

The other benefit is his speed with pushing the pace which will only help Giannis for one, and I love that he rebounds for a little guard. That shows he’s willing to get physical down low, which somewhat indicates he can be a physical player defensively in the future ala a Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Chris Paul, a small, physical PG whose sizes says he should be a liability but he isn’t.

If Giannis was a free agent this summer, where would Alex be drafted? Like how high would a team thinking they have a shot at Giannis be willing to pull the trigger on lil bro ?

I prefer Tre Mann and Deuce McBride over Sharife Cooper. Cooper is a great playmaker but I'm not a fan of his size mixed with his inability to shoot. I don't see his game translating well if he can't knock down shots.

Hyland is the best pick in this range but doubt he falls.

McBride would be a McDream...feels like a lot of upside and ability to be an impact guy on either side of the ball if he pans out. Given the unknown future of DDV, having another guy that could potentially play some lock down defense at the 1 or 2, that feels like a win at our pick.

Earliest would be GS@14

At least mid-first round.

No way he makes it past picks 21 and 22 (NY/LAL)

Lol no. He'd go back end of the 2nd at best.

He'd be in the same boat as Kostas was; potential late 2nd round pick or undrafted.

Giannis wasn't a UFA in 2018. If Giannis was a UFA, the Lakers/Knicks/GS are doing everything they can to draft Alex and sign Thanasis/Kostas to attract Giannis. No way he makes it out of the first round.

He'd be a UFA coming off of an NBA championship and Alex Antetokounmpo wasn't even on the radar for top Division 1 programs. It's why he's currently playing in such a low division. No team is pissing away a first round pick for an outside shot. You're waaaay off base.

Call me crazy, but I don't see Wagner as a top 10/lottery type level guy. I''ve watched a lot of Mich the last couple years and I just don't see it at that level. And keep in mind this coming from a shooting, bball IQ type bias like I have so normally I'd be in the camp of a guy like him. That will be my one 'hot take' of this draft, we'll see how he pans out. I would consider myself wrong if he has any kind of longer term solid contributor type career.

If I had to make another one, I'd pick Suggs to be better than Cade. I don't fault anyone taking Cade number 1 though, I certainly get it and I don't have anything negative to say about him.

True....I assumed it meant hypothetical we didn't win the title and Giannis is going to another team.
