We won the championship. We’re on the other side of the fence. We’re just looking to stay on this side right now IMO this draft.
I agree with the above comment though, Cooper would solve so many things on this team offensively when we stall. Let me ask, can we trade our first next year this year as long as we get a pick this year? Or do we also need to find a first for 2023? The more I’m watching Cooper lately, the more I love him. Guy can’t shot? Who cares, he draws fouls when he drives, hits his FTs, and can run the offense and let Giannis, Jrue, and Middleton play off ball sometimes. I’d seriously consider trading next years first for this years first for Cooper, don’t really care for the other guards as difference makers, but I feel Cooper could be the Rondo to a 3 star trio type player. Especially since he allows Jrue to focus on scoring off the ball, not isolation which Jrue I feel struggles with.
The other benefit is his speed with pushing the pace which will only help Giannis for one, and I love that he rebounds for a little guard. That shows he’s willing to get physical down low, which somewhat indicates he can be a physical player defensively in the future ala a Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Chris Paul, a small, physical PG whose sizes says he should be a liability but he isn’t.
