Or what happens to the doubters when we steal a Gem??

They'll conveniently forget their position after they've seen a couple of years of proof.

TBH, kinda actually hope we use it to pick Terrence. Just feels like his family deserves to hear his name called on draft night.

There was talk of them doing that at the end of the 1st Round.
Would be a nice gesture.

It would be, but what actually happens with that. They make a symbolic pick, then 5 minutes later they make their actual pick?
I mean, picking him couldnt possibly count as the actual pick right?

I can't understand what they're saying (assuming it's in Spanish) but there's some impressive game footage of Aldama here, both during his games with Loyola as well as international competition at the U18 Europe tournament, where Aldama won MVP.

Usman Garuba was Aldama's teammate on team Spain at the tournament, yet Aldama won MVP, not Garuba. Garuba is projected to go in the 12-22 range of the draft, so it makes no sense to me why Aldama is projected in the 45-60 range..he could be a steal if we grab him at 45..

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Good write up. Spinella is really high on Isaiah Todd, who may still be there at 45 but seems more likely that he goes in the 28-38 range. So perhaps he's a guy that we trade up for..

Oklahoma’s Austin Reaves is one of the most intriguing prospects projected by many to go in the second round, and Boston is one of the numerous teams expressing interest in the 23-year-old guard. Reaves is set to workout with the Celtics on Tuesday, according to sources. A workout this close to draft night is a sure sign of interest from Boston, which should not come as a surprise to those who know Reaves’ game. 18 mins ago – via Chris Grenham @ Forbes.com

I like him a good bit. Think he would be good value at 45. Would not be disappointed at all if he were our pick.

Not sure why we would pick another combo guard though, unless we plan on sending some out. The pg/sg rotation is getting crowded

Smart/Pritchard/Yam
Fournier/Reaves/Edwards
Brown/Nesmith/Romeo

??

just seems an odd fit to me.

Almost seems like destiny for the Celtics to draft a guy named Javonte Smart

Trivia question: Who can tell me the last time the Celtics didn't have a first round pick going into the draft?

Spoiler:
Trivia Question = too lazy to google.
And mildly more fun.
Though, I did actually look. Couldn't wait.

It was 2009 because of the KG draft. Man, it sucks not having a first round pick! It still blows my mind that Brad had to use the 16th pick to get off of a guy that was just a all star and only in Boston for two seasons. :banghead: Ainge really had a bad couple seasons…..

I have no inside knowledge but I am going to predict the Celtics get back in the first round late and select PG Sharife Cooper. I think the Celtics have had Cooper in for a couple of workouts and really like the player. Just a guess.

I think the Celtics will be looking to do the same thing of acquiring a pick like when they acquired Rondo in the draft.

or I could be 100% wrong.

so trading back into the first rd might be expensive since we can't offer much (assuming we save future assets for Beal or someone else).

but to do it for another small PG would make me sick..
