This team needs to add players who fit needs and are talented. I’m not saying Bouknight won’t be a decent player, but damn, let’s grab something in an area where we don’t already have that player.

Mylie, I think Bouknight's interest is a smokescreen to divert attention from Kuminga, who is our true target.

I agree…..I’m more talking to those advocating for him

Fran Frischella doesn’t buy the talk of guys rising and falling like we are seeing. Says the Kuminga stuff is media driven

A movie scene that expresses my concerns about the Warriors front office & the draft:

Near the end of “Notting Hill”, Hugh Grant is explaining why he turned down Julia Roberts. All his friends nod in agreement, and say he did the right thing. Until the crazy one in the group looks at him in disgust, and says “you daft pr**k”.

In the Warriors FO right now, I don’t think there is anyone who could say that to Bob or Joe or Kirk.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I like him a lot. Great feel for the game, fantastic passer obviously but his rebounding for a guard is elite. As an 18 year old it was quite clear often he was the most talented player on the court here. Shooting is the obvious concern but it appeared to improve as the season wore on (he made 3 3s in his Boomers appearance in the exhibition against Nigeria ) He's never going to be Klay/Steph but I also don't think he's going to a the Rubio level liability that people on here make him out to be

Clearly im biased but I'd love to have him as a Warrior

These boards are great. Come for the draft info, stay for the Notting Hill references.

I'm locked in to Giddey as BPA at 7. He's got true star potential. I'm worried OKC takes him at 6.

I have the opposite read on the Melo comparison for Giddey. It's wild that we can watch the success of LaMelo and another 6'8 PG with elite court vision who had multiple triple doubles in the exact same league as Melo happens to come along the following year and we talk ourselves out of him.

No, he and LaMelo aren't the same but they can't get much more similar as far as prospect profiles/comparisons go.

OK final picks time. In order of preference, not including top 5 which seem to be locked.

Kuminga
Wagner
----------
Moody
Jalen Johnson
Giddey
Bouknight
Sengun
Murphy
Kai

Some of these maybe not the best fit but I'm taking BPA with a few exceptions (like I think Bouknight is easier for us to integrate than Sengun). And in the end, I probably wouldn't take 2 major project guys in the same draft.

Other guys I kinda like but fall just off the edge: Keon, Mitchell, Duarte, Williams, Garuba, Butler, Springer. So yeah, that's why I wouldn't mind trading 14 for 19+21. At least several of them are guaranteed to be there at those slots. If they don't work out trade them or send them to the G-League for a while (dumping Smailagic, Mulder, etc. if necessary wouldn't bother me to open up roster spots).

Preferred trade scenarios:
Trade up to 4 for Suggs
Trade down to 10 + asset (Bane?) with the Grizz
Trade down 14 to 19+21 with NYK
Myles Turner for less than all our assets
Beal, Lillard, Simmons I'm pretty cold on right now

Except that Kuminga worked out/had dinner with the Warriors. That's just a fact. Fraschilla can believe what he wants but Kuminga's agent won't have him entertaining teams lower down the draft unless he thinks it's necessary.

Tomorrow should be a really interesting day to see if Beal or any other star asks for a trade ahead of the draft. I also wonder if there might be a trade in the works with the Grizz. Only two days to go fam, I can't wait!

That's just sheer laziness and unwillingness to do their homework on the part of some folks.

If you value Andrew Bogut's take on players, there's a good podcast interview between him and Giddey. Aside from the passing skills, the kid has one thing going for him that I really like - a chip on his shoulder.

If nothing else his size means his shot is going to be more open more often and his shot inside is likely to improve.

Its just a footnote, but notable for potential draft implications:

Kings offer a QO to Terrence Davis. He's a PG/SG, and played pretty solid for them. But its just another affirmation that the Kings probably wont be in on Mitchell & Giddey and are probably looking more at the 3/4/5 side of things at 9. Its not much, but any kind of clarity in the 8-13 range is gonna be helpful

The rumor is Kings promised Wagner. Wagner is working out with Barnes. Wagner hasn't really worked out anywhere.

Grizzlies move up to 10 and are looking to move up further. No one can really move into the top 5 because of the cost meaning Grizzlies can only realistically move up to 6-9. Consensus is that Bouknight, Kuminga go somewhere between 6-8, Wagner is at 9. So Grizzlies have to be looking to draft Bouknight, Kuminga, or Wagner. Moody has some traction in the top 9 and so does Giddey, but Giddey with JA just doesn't make sense, that has to be a smokescreen. So Grizzlies are really looking at Bouk, Kuminga, Wagner, possibly Moody. Moody is the only one that realistically has a chance to be there at 10, and yet the Grizzlies are still looking to move up so I don't think it's Moody. That writer who found out the type of prospects the Grizzlies like singled out Wagner as a type of prospect that they look for. I think Wagner is there target, which is why they're looking to jump the Kings. I've been saying this for awhile but we should be targeting Wagner. If we're not targeting Wagner or Kuminga we should trade down with the Grizz and we'll most likely still get our target.

I’m definitely on board for the trade down with Memphis assuming we don’t make a deal for a star. Getting the 2024 first back would be huge and frees up future picks for a big trade later.

We also know that the Kings aren't looking for a guard, since they're trying to trade Buddy because there's not going to be many minutes with Fox, Hali, and Wright.

Haven't watched all of this but Wagner is keeping his cards close to his chest and doesn't want to answer any questions about which teams he has talked to/worked out with. Apparently that's his "strategy"....

Also said he thinks he is getting close to 6'11 now.

Perfect Warrior fit. Just take the kid at 7.

Haliburton also shut down workouts last year with a promise from the Kings and here Wagner from what I've seen hasn't worked out anywhere. I'd bet a lot money Wagner was promised at 9
