Stirring the pot...who do you NOT want to see in ORL?
I don't want to encourage haters to rag on players. I'm talking about perceived fit/ceiling/vision for the team, etc. There are actually quite a lot of combos of players that I'd be very happy to see in Magic blue next season. Without a lot of detail, name the two guys you really don't want to see drafted by ORL. Obviously, limit only to players that could plausibly be selected at 5 and 8.
I'll start...Sengun and Barnes...I just don't think that's the type of team I want to watch, regardless of individual "value"
This would probably be a good poll if I knew how to do that...feel free to hijack and upgrade my feeble attempt.

Honestly, this is probably the first draft where I'd be cool with most of the top 15. However, if the following players are drafted by us, I won't be happy.
Mitchell
Kai Jones
Kispert

Kai Jones
Kispert

Re: Stirring the pot...who do you NOT want to see in ORL?
With the obvious caveat that I will support whoever they decide to draft because I have no control over this pick and I want the player and organization to succeed…
-No bigs outside of Mobley/Sengun
-No older players (Kispert, Mitchell, Duarte)
-No guys with awful production (Kuminga, Z. Williams)

Re: Stirring the pot...who do you NOT want to see in ORL?
There's nobody in the consensus top 6 that I'm particularly against (I would prefer one of the obvious top 4 to slip to us, then Barnes, then Kuminga), so not that worried about pick 5.
At 8, the only players I really don't want are Mitchell or Kai Jones. I'd be happy with any of the remaining consensus lottery picks but would prefer to stay away from the older players if possible.

everyone has their likes and dislikes. to me, the biggest issue people have with Bouknight is his passing. That can be easily improved upon for me. He isnt a PG, he is a SG. He doesnt have to be a special passer, just more willing. you can teach that much easier than teaching shooting or improving athleticism (which you really cant teach)

Re: Stirring the pot...who do you NOT want to see in ORL?
The Magic have more information about players than we do. I will be ok with whomever they choose as I have to believe there was a reason for it even if I can't see it.
Of course I have my favorites and ones I would not be too happy with, but I will have to give them a chance. Some head scratchers will be older player and players with low upside.

I don't trust his shooting either. He is the Big Baby Davis of guards and I think would be better served working for Avi Loeb's Black Hole Project at MIT. When your favorable comp is Jamal Crawford, I would avoid someone like that with a top 10 pick.
Edit: I hope whoever AND-1'd this did so because of my sweet Theoretical Physics burn.

Re: Stirring the pot...who do you NOT want to see in ORL?
Sengun Giddey Kuminga. While I believe they all have positives, I've laid out my biggest issues with each below.
The league is run by wings & Orlando doesn't have said wing so drafting a C who would likely need to be fed like Vuc doesn't seem like a smart idea. I also am a firm believer that drafting a C in the top 10 is poor value and you can find production in FA. Defensively he will need to change a whole lot and I think the slow pace of Euro League helps him big time.
I just don't see it with Giddey and the biggest thing with him is his low athleticism & defense. Some may say that's overrated but let's be honest it really isn't in todays NBA. He's slow to react defensively and gets blown by far too often in 1/2 court when watching his games. His wingspan is +0 and for someone who is slow that could close the gap a little bit.
Kuminga I've pretty much said what I need to say about him in the other threads. Too many BIG issues that he would need to fix for him to reach a respectable floor and how long would that take scares the crap out of me. He's the biggest boom bust prospect and I just don't see it working out for him.

i dont get this comparison...
as for shooting, he had mid-season elbow surgery, that will impact anyones shooting %'s

His 3% prior to Jan 5th wasn't anything special either
Game 1 1-4
Game 2 2-7
Game 3 3-6
Game 4 5-12
Game 5 0-4
Tally that up and it's 11/33 for 33%.
Post Jan 5th Numbers 11/41 for 26%
Can he shoot yes but he definitely has a quick trigger finger to jack up some bad shots. He's a bigger Cole Anthony type player, microwave off the bench volume shooter
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Luka had great handles and a bit more size. 10-15 is a solid spot for Giddey and everything I'm reading says Memphis traded up for him at 10. He'd be a solid 2nd ball handler with Ja.

Nightmare scenario to me would be combination of Ziaire Williams, Giddey and Kai Jones
