Kevin Durant Expects Brooklyn Big 3 To Make 'Right Decision' On Extension

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 27, 2021 8:16 pm

Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving will become eligible for contract extensions with the Brooklyn Nets this offseason and the intention from Sean Marks is that they will happen.

Durant hopes the extensions are signed.

“(You) like being in that environment, first of all. You enjoy playing the game, that’s the most important thing. I think we all three enjoy playing with each other,” Durant said when asked by the Post after Team USA practice on Tuesday morning. “But that’s a personal thing, and guys are different. I’m sure when the time is right I’m sure we’ll all make the right decision for ourselves.”

Durant could re-sign for four years, $197.7 million. Harden can extend for three years and $161.1 million. Irving can sign a four-year, $181.6 million deal. Irving could also sign a five-year, $235 million max in 2022 if he waits and opts out.

Durant signed a series of one-plus-one contracts during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors but appears to see himself with Brooklyn long-term.

“Just being in a great environment and being around teammates that enjoy the game,” said Durant. “Keep growing individually. That’s the most important thing; how we’re growing individually. Definitely how we come together as a team. I enjoy seeing my teammates get better; I enjoy getting better and have an environment that encourages that every single day.”

It really is a shame the 30 best players don’t play for different franchises and create some real competitive ball. Instead let’s have 8 good teams and 22 garbage teams. Fans been asking for years for balance and this ain’t it nba.

Yes, let's make getting a bench and solid player even more difficult. KD as a "GM" isn't that great it seems.

Incompetent front offices and owners are just as responsible for the lack of parity as the star players themselves

Lebron was stuck in Cleveland carrying the remains of big z and a bunch of over the hill bums as his 2 and 3 because the cavs incompetent front office couldn't provide a generational talent on a rookie contract with so much as a proper number 2. Kd, I'll have to concede that point and I'm a nets fan.
