Just to be clear, I am not in the Derozen camp necessarily, I was responding to people suggesting we go after Dinwiddie - who also doesn't provide outside shooting. If we are going to bring in someone unable to hit the outside shot for a year, I would rather go with Derozen between those two.

Take on bad contracts for assets.. they’re in a position to do this but refuse because they wanna keep cap space open for mythical superstar free agents

I get we've been left at the altar a bunch of times.

But this year it feels like we have a bigger shot than most previous years. SO I have hope we finally end up with a high level star player or two.

We have cap space for a high level star player or two. Problem is...none are available. So...you should hold on to hope but... prepare for reality.

At this point the market for superstars is dried up Knicks are better of becoming a 2nd Rd exit team and clear the stain of loser that dolan has stamped on this franchise last two decades who knows 3 years from now Booker Tatum Mitchell might consider coming here.

Rozier / Rose / Luca

Mitch / Norvelle

or

Gordon + 11 for Mitch + 19 + 21

Davion Mitchell* / Rose
RJ / IQ
Hawyard / Knox
Randle / Obi
Noel / Sims*

or Devonte Graham for #19

Devonte / Rose
RJ / IQ
Kispert / Bullock
Randle / Toppin
Mitch / Noel

I would not. #21 for Rozier I think you have to consider. I would toss in #58 as I don't care about that pick at all. But you have to know that there are no real difference makers that would be coming to the team.

This would be a nice upgrade over Bullock in the starting lineup. Thibs kind of player. Isn't afraid to shoot and is a dogged 1v1 defender. I'm guessing Memphis probably wants a tangible piece back instead of picks.

Knicks trade pick #21 and #32 to Utah for pick #30 and Joe Ingles

Trade Joe Ingles and #19 for Pick #9 and Bagley

Draft #9 and #30 and come away with a year to kick the tires on Bagley as a backup to Mitch.

Utah moves up in the draft to #19 and drops salary
Sacramento get Joe Ingles, ditch Bagley, and still draft at #19
Knicks move up to #9, keep a late first at #30, and potentially have the back up big they been looking for in Bagley.

A damn near win-win-win scenario

Bob Ross wrote:I'm tired of the one year deals. It feels like false hope. If a star wants to cone here, we will make the space - every team does in that situation. Invest in a solid team where guys aren't just playing for their next contract

Unfortunately we are seeing once again nobody like's doing the knicks favors..... So it would likely be a hybrid situation of guys on below market value contracts but also guaranteed years, and guys who are on 1 year balloon deals. I can even see the knicks offering FA a choice between the two. Even then I could see teams demanding a lot to take on good deals.

Otto Porter to the Knicks on a 1 year deal, Scott Perry style!

Yeah, I'm calling this one now.

Otto Porter looked like Rasheed when he joined the Knicks.

Porter on a cheap 1 year reclamation project is what I'm thinking, similar to what happened to Morris, Bullock, Burkes.

Otto Porter looks like he retired from the weight room.

He's using that Jared Dudley exercise program?
