Can’t see the Cavs declining that. Enough already. Offer OKC Obi, #19, Knicks 22, Mavs 23 for Shai.

exactly. timing is one of the most important aspects of roster building. he's worth the 10 mill a year but it's not time for us to give it to him.
i hear y'all, but $10m really isn't a ton for a key rotation piece. especially if you are going to be spending otherwise. knicks could tie this money up into value salaries without using picks and still have a good amount of assets to be active in the trade market as we get better.
if we weren't doing anything else, i'd probably not focus on bully like this. but we kind of have something to move forward with that he could be a good part of. there's value in the known veteran commodity. would def rather keep bullock than spend double on a comparable player.
i'd be against bringing him back if we didn't take the surprising steps we did.
K-DOT: my last thought/defense of bullock is that 2 of the seasons you pointed out in his shooting stats were impacted by back injury and recovery. this season was his first healthy season in a while. there's something about his relationship with the org. we gave him the opportunity to rehab on payroll instead of as a free agent trying to make it back into the league. i think he's made good on that investment and will continue to be part of the heart of the team.
All that being said, I would pay more for a player who can put the ball on the floor a little bit.
Reggie was erased from the playoffs because he's a standstill shooter who needs his offense spoonfed to him.
That probably has a lot more to do with Randle going spastic and Rose being worn down in the playoffs since Reggie played off of them in the regular season. He's not a creator himself, but a good spot up shooter so if your whole ball distribution system disappears in the playoffs it will leave a guy like him hanging out to dry. I wouldn't judge Reggie on this. It was his teammates who were gassed or in fail mode.

Man the Reggie thing is super simple - I want him back, at the right price in his true role - a bench role player. But this is the damn problem - Thibs would 100 percent stick Reggie right back into the starting lineup playing 35 minutes a night again. So I want him back, but you can't just give Thibs his favorite toys and expect him to do anything different.

To be fair based on what I seen Leon is more than ok with giving Thib what he wants. They just have to make sure they don’t overpay to do it. It’s an entirely enabler culture.

Based on what exactly? All the moves Leon made improved the team regardless if it was what Thibs wanted. Just happened to be a great pairing. I'm sure they work well together.

Maybe Cleveland is desperate to get a better offer for Sexton.

This is madness. It simply cannot be true, they got to stop with these SGA rumors making it look like he's available for cheap.

Probably. But honestly, they should be doing this. They need to consolidate. Ingram would be even better.
But yeah, it's probably Cleveland blowing smoke again.

I’d love SGA, but seeing what Thibs would like to do, and how much Rose played, Thibs wants a vet starting pg either Cp as his dream scenario or Lowry

That inherently is a flaw of Reggie's though.
Look at someone like Huerter for the Hawks. Just by being able to lightly attack the closeout, he is so much more effective.
Reggie doesn't even provide the type of creation off the dribble that someone like Danny Green has (which is generally making a decision within 3 dribbles of the closeout)

This free agency just keeps sounding worse and worse for us as the days go by.
Dear Baby Black Jesus, I'm just praying for a decent, dare I say, good draft tomorrow, where a difference maker will flow into the franchise like a swallow to capistrano.. I'm sure I used that phrase wrong there..

Trade 19, Knox, Obi, Future 2 for Sexton. Bring back Taj, Rose.
Draft Isaiah Jackson at 21, Duece McBride at 32.
Obviously add some more depth but
G Rose - IQ - McBride
G Sexton - Trent
F Barrett - Trent
F Randle - FA
C Mitch - Taj - Jackson
That roster doesn’t even make the playoffs
No one is good enough for some Knick fans, which is perfect, because no one good is who the Knicks are going to wind up having to sign.
