how do you figure? Pac12 put in 5 tournament teams.

Big10
SEC
Big12
ACC

all had more tournament teams. that would generally say that those conference were stronger and tougher. going into the tournament, PAC12 only had 1 team in the top-25. so why exactly was it the toughest conference last season?
how many teams did they have in the final 16?

Edit: I did a quick check. They had more teams than any other conference in the sweet 16, and they had the best record in the NCAA tournament.

that could mean they got hot at the right time. doesnt necessarily mean it was the toughest conference.
a lot of them had better winning % in conference than OOC

I don’t know too much about Primo. The point was that Pelton’s list has been the best predictive tool for us fans of the Magic actual picks.

Maybe it’s coincidence, maybe the modeling has been similar in the past

did it rank Bamba high?

I think so, this is based on my recollection, but he was like 8 or something, there were higher players, but he was still relatively high.

Pretty sure we skipped one or two players ahead of him in the list. But thats pretty much the range.

That year, Mo wasnt the first available in that list.

It doesn't necessarily mean they were the toughest, but more than likely they were.

and they were 5th in Non-conference record

to each their own. statistics say they were not the toughest conference

These are fun to look at, and we have drafted close to them with WeltHam (coincidentally or not?), but they're not perfect.. just like any metric. There have been so big misses:

2014
Marcus Smart #1 and Embiid down at #6
Andrew Wiggins #19, Jerami Grant #29, Jordan Clarkson #30.. all below McDermott, Jarnell Stokes, James Ennis, PJ Hairston, etc

2015
Devin Booker way back in the ratings behind the likes of RJ Hunter, Frank Kaminsky, Bobby Portis, Kevin Looney, Tyus Jones, Sam Dekker

2016
Dragan Bender #2, Jaylen Brown #39

2017
Jayson Tatum #8 behind Dennis Smith Jr, Zach Collins, Josh Jackson

2018
SGA #14, Sexton #15 behind Elie Okobo

Point is, there's going to be some stars or very good players from his list in the 15-30 range. It's not exactly a death kiss for guys like Bouknight.

They looked like the best to me and they dominated the tournament.

Definitely, Bouknight could be a star, just doubt he will be a star on the Magic. Unless, their modeling methods have changed, which is probable, just how much has it changed.

So we drafted T-5 and 9 off Pelton’s rankings. Sengun and Garuba were highly rated Pelton players that were available and ignored by the Magic. Pelton was pretty high on Wagner, higher than me anyways.
