Porter on a cheap 1 year reclamation project is what I'm thinking, similar to what happened to Morris, Bullock, Burkes.

Otto Porter looks like he retired from the weight room.

Still shot around 37% from 3 (40% before the trade) and I'm sure he'll get his defensive intensity back under Thibs, dude is still 27. He can be a cheap option if the Knicks miraculously make a big signing.

We might not even get Ball Oubre or even schroder then caa will give up all our picks for Kuzma to LA then LA will end up with Beal and Dame at deadline with the Knicks assets lol.

Maybe a 3 team deal where,

Damian Lillard goes to Knicks

Collin Sexton + (3 picks from Ny) goes to Portland

Toppin, with a First goes to Cleveland

Don't want Dinwiddie or Shamet.

A DeRozan one year overpay with team option is fine. Don't want most of the PGs floating around. Lowery or Conley or Paul good. Others pass. Maybe Lonzo.

If everything goes cold I wouldn’t be surprised if we pushed for Ben Simmons once everyone laughs at Philly

RJ for Simmons would be highway robbery for Knicks.

NOLA's keeping Lonzo. Lowry's going to either NOLA or Philly. Conley? Haven't heard anything about him, but he'd be fine.

Knicks refuse to be good at drafting and developing, fronting that they are all for FAs to come, when nobody worth a salt wants to come here. Just pathetic really

But this is a whole new crew, i.e. Thibs, Leon, Wes, Aller, et al. We have plenty of cap space which we HAVE to use according to league rules. We have an All-NBA player in Randle and a solid young players in RJ, IQ, Obi and Mitch. There really should be no reason why we should screw this up. But, I agree, this off season will be very telling about where their heads are at.

Without a doubt. I'd be prepared for the can getting kicked down the road again for another year if everyone else gets scooped up ... like last year!

From FANDSIDED, so don't @ me but what about trades for Dejounte Murray or Derrick White?

Murray for No. 19, Knox, and Frank (sign and trade)

https://dailyknicks.com/2021/07/16/ny-knicks-trades-dejounte-murray-or-derrick-white/2/

White for Knox and No. 21

https://dailyknicks.com/2021/07/16/ny-knicks-trades-dejounte-murray-or-derrick-white/3/

I think those proposals are Knicks biased but not crazy. We'd probably have to spice it up a little but I do like those two players.

Knox has no value, even though I believe he still very talented.

I would try to trade one of our pick and cash for cam reddish. The hawks are looking to trade him. He is super talented , can shoot it, defend and can take it to the basket

My current top 2 dream scenarios (assuming Kawhi stays put in LAC):

Background:

The 2nd offer from OKC to CLE which was apparently was turned down was SGA AND 6 for 3. Apparently many consider this a 3 or 4 man draft then a big drop to the next tier. Going from Superstar to potential stars.

SGA is on a sooner timeline to get paid, Sexton is on a sooner timeline to get paid and redundant to Garland whom Cavs like more. Economics certainly play a role for some owners/markets/teams.

Option 1:

If we aquire 3 we can likely get SGA and 6. We could give:

RJ, Obi, Knox, Noel (S&T) and pick 21, 2023 Dal 1st to Cleveland for Sexton, 3, Prince(salary dump)

Then give 3 to OKC for SGA and 6

Then sign Derozan in FA

Line-up:

Mitch/MLE/Pick 6
Randle/Prince/Pick 6
Derozan/Vet Min
Sexton/Quickley
SGA/Sexton

Option 2:

RJ, Obi, Knox, Noel (S&T) and pick 21, 2023 Dal 1st to Cleveland for Sexton, 3, Prince(salary dump)

Then give 3 to OKC for SGA and 6

Then give Sexton, Pick 6, Pick 19, 2023 NYR 1st, 2022 right to swap to POR for Lillard.

Then sign Derozan (if he can fit under cap) or Oubre

Line-up:

Mitch/MLE
Randle/Prince
Derozan or Oubre/Vet Min
Lillard/Quickley
SGA/Lillard
New reality of Son ship!

wouldn’t cleveland just cut out new york, send three protected picks to portland then take Dane for themselves?

Return to New York Knicks
