Him being available because he hasn't played well doesn't exactly inspire confidence.Otherwise, Atlanta has hit on other wing drafting (Hunter and Huerter) and signings (Bogdan Bogdanovic), so it’s hard to see Reddish ascend more than the 4th wing.
Acquiring those other players at his position is not a vote of confidence by Atlanta, either.
Technically, Hunter and Huerter were there first Bogdan was the only one added after he was there.
He’s long, and a good defender, though. Lockdown? Not yet, but he’s good there.
Finally, some good news?
Look, I know it sounds like I'm ragging on him, but this draft is our best chance to add real quality, cheaply, in some time. I'd just hate to see us mess it up.
No worries. I definitely wouldn’t trade out of the draft for him. But trade down, and still get another guy that could help us long term sounds pretty interesting. And, Reddish is still young and talented, and the hope is that he’s been working out of the growing pains of his career in Atlanta and is ready for a bigger role soon.
Think of it like a Jermaine O’Neal type acquisition of a “second draft” kind of guy.
