Shai is about to get the MAX this summer, maybe they just don't think they will be good enough during that contract to reason paying it to him. Plus they were too good with him this year and ended up with 6th pick.

Never was that high on him as some here anyways. Definitely don't want him now.

As much as I dislike Turner if we aren’t giving away any of our core players, just picks, then I’m all for it

The Pacers have always valued proven players over draft picks. If we're trading for Turner they're going to be asking for Hayward and/or PJ.

"Chad Ford: By the way, there are more first-round picks up for sale than I have ever seen before. For instance, the Hornets have had discussions — with teams including the Knicks and Thunder, I’m told — about moving the No. 11 pick. – via Twitter chadfordinsider"

Since this is the fake trade thread.

Charlotte out: Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, #11
Charlotte in: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, #7 - turning into Moody, Wagner, or Bouknight most likely.
Why: Charlotte gets the center they expected last year, one of the scoring/shooting prospects from this draft, & more capspace ($8 mil) to fill out the rest of the roster. They end up younger and deeper than last year. In this scenario they might even be able to sign another center, and bring back both Monk & Devonte'....

Indiana out: Miles Turner
Indiana in: Terry Rozier & # 11
Why: They get Rozier, a proven winner, and a lottery pick in this year's draft for Tuner.

Warriors out: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, #7
Warriors in: Gordon Hayward, Myles Turner
Why: Warriors keep a pick, but load up win now talent. Rolling out a lineup of Steph, Klay, Gordon, Drayon, & Miles would be brutal.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Seems to be a fairish amount of Twitter chatter about a potential Hornets - Pacers - Rockets trade with the Hornets essentially giving up the 11 for Turner and absorbing him into cap space. Not sure I love that deal.

The trade board has tossed around something along the lines of Christian Wood for 11. Assuming no crazy other value involved, what do folks think about that deal?

I don’t love it, but I could learn to accept it without too much drama

I'm not convinced Wood would be as good on a winning team as his number last season would indicate, but trading 11 for him is at least intriguing.

I hate 11 for Turner and it feels like one of those MJ things that could probably happen.

I agree with Braggins - I'd be more at ease with Wood for #11 than I would be Turner for #11.

Makes sense for all teams involved...

I would rather have Turner than Wood. I am extremely low on Wood. All he has done is put up good stats on the worst team in the league every year. Nobody ever wants him to stick around.

Meh I have concerns with both Wood and Turner, but I could live with either in all honesty.

Wood would be better offensively, Turner a better rim protector. Wood has the edge on rebounding as well.
I think Charlotte are going to be a rebound by committee team with Hayward, Bridges, Washington and Ball.

If the Kings traded Hield to the Lakers, would you S&T Monk for Bagley?

Monk (S&T) + #11
for
Bagley + #9

and look to cement drafting a wing like Moody?

or maybe:

Monk (S&T)
for
Bagley + #39

then look to trade #39 + #56 to get back into the end of round #1?

You cant move picks before free agency, but yes I would swap Monk for Bagley or Bamba in a heartbeat

Return to Charlotte Hornets
