Re: 2021 Bucks vs 2015 Warriors
Really interesting to think about. I think the factors the series would hinge on are:
1) How well can Draymond, Bogut defend Giannis in the post? (Because he can certainly defend a rolling Giannis, or Giannis from the perimeter from the triple threat) - I'd say quite well. Giannis will still be effective, but nowhere near the same level he was vs. the Suns
2) Can the Bucks defend the Warriors PNR the same way they shut down Phoenix from the perimeter? I don't think they'll see as much success because the Warriors O was less prone to just defaulting to a ton of ISOs like the Suns did. Whenever the Suns were moving the ball around they punished the Bucks (and even during the Game 5 run, they gave up like 5 open 3s in a row that would've been momentum-killers/series changing baskets).
3) Is the 38% shooting on 3 for the Bucks sustainable going into the matchup? I think the Warriors are going to give them less easy looks, so the implied shooting % based on shot quality should go down... but can the Bucks actually shoot at that implied average instead of the putrid level they shot at in the playoffs?
I think I'm pretty convinced that #1/#2 tilt towards the Warriors. #3 is the big one - if Milwaukee sustains that level of 3 point shooting, then that helps solve their half court woes and it gives them a puncher's chance and pulling it out in a tight 7 game series. If not, then I think they lose in 6 at max.

You're not seriously comparing how Curry was huarded this season are you??? GSW had ZERO other reliable offensive options, so it's impossible to compare against GSW lineup with a healthy Klay and others.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

you realize warriors only beat lebron with a injured team?
their 2015 run was as favorably injured as 2021 was for bucks
They beat the team who beat the 7 SRS team, with a gentle sweep. And also Cavs were still +5 team without Kyrie and Love and Warriors won it almost by 10 a game. All veryfy Warriors were a 10 SRS team, which level Bucks couldn't even come close.

you mean rockets?, is very clear thst rockets overperformed to eliminate clippers but if we take rockets that high then we would need to take 2021 suns and their srs amd playoffs srs at face value too (which must really high after destroying injured nuggets amd beating injured clippers who also beat injured utah)

Are 15 Warriors still being doubted because Pat Beverly was out and Conley missed a few games? They ran back pretty much the same team the next year, won 73 games, and it took the greatest player of all time having his best series of all time to beat them in 7.

And LeBron only beat the Warriors because they were injured.
The Warriors had no injuries in 2016 besides Bogut when Lebron beat them
So please pipe down if you are going to make these silly takes.
Not really true. Bogut and Iggy got hurt toward the end of that series. Curry was hobbled. And of course, Draymond was suspended for a crucial game 5. That series was a war of attrition and health plus external circumstances played a huge part in the outcome. It also helped the Cavs tremendously that the Warriors had to play OKC (who was probably the best team in the playoffs that year) and the Cavs had to play the Derozan-led Raptors in their respective CFs.

Bucks - Warriors are a worse version of 2016 team that lost, and not as good on offense as their regular season results for the same reason, and Bucks can match their defense.
Comes down to matchups where Bucks are built great with Holiday on Curry plus Giannis.

You think Bucks would've beat the 2016 version too?

Yes, I think it's a better matchup for the Bucks than it was for either the Thunder or Cavs who won or came close

Re: 2021 Bucks vs 2015 Warriors
The same GSW that took 6 games to beat Lebron and hobos?
We’re comparing Delly, JR, Thompson, Shumpert, James Jones, and Mozgov to
Middleton, Jrue, Lopez, Pat, Portis, and Tucker
Giannis would have destroyed them
Delly gave Curry issues that series at times...
Bucks in 6

As you said Suns beat them because of injuries, not the way Rox had.

Wait a second are we talking about the same Bucks who took 7 games to beat KD Bruce Brown and the ghost of James Harden?

Kyrie played 3.5 games...
Harden was still out there making plays and getting bs fts
Harris (best shooter in reg season)
Blake Griffin
Bruce Brown
Claxton
Mike James
Jeff Green
Those 2 teams aren’t even comparable
Nice omissions though
KD also played the greatest game of his life

If those regular season 3s counted, we would've had a different champ this year
Bucks were a great team, I just think they would've struggled scoring against Warriors defense. Granted Bucks defense would cause Warriors some trouble as well, but I think Warriors would come out on top.

Re: 2021 Bucks vs 2015 Warriors
The Nets were playing well in the Bucks series, probably overperforming on defense. I don't really love the "They needed _____ games to beat inferior team" argument because sometimes it's about how well that team was playing in that series not how good they are on paper and that was the series of the playoffs for level of play in my opinion. And at the end of the day the Bucks still won.

Re: 2021 Bucks vs 2015 Warriors
Milwaukee’s own fans doubted their team all playoffs long until the end lol. Now we’re acting like they were a juggernaut. They were starting PJ Tucker in 2021 lol.
Who knows if they even beat the Hawks if Trae Young doesn’t get hurt.

It's a very silly argument

Steph had 41 on 14/21 shooting against Jrue. This is not making your point for you in the way you think it is.
