Your 2022 NBA Draft Prospect

Post#1 » by bkseven » Thu Jul 29, 2021 7:03 am

Sign me up for Jaden Hardy. If we don’t get a high pick, I’m all for the core players taking a big step and more…

Who’s your guy for 2022?

Feels like Jalen Green will have an impact on Hardy's draft stock for next years draft. How Green translates to the NBA should give us some more context to view Hardy's play in the G League. That being said Hardy is at the top of my list, and he's from Detroit.

Also like Nikola Jovic a lot

If everything goes well this year we are picking in the 15 to 16 range or Houston is getting our pick.

I’m not too impressed with this class, but it’s still so early. Hoping we lose our pick this year.

You're a step ahead of me. I don't even know who is being projected as the top guys for the 2022 draft right now.

Banchero looks like a monster to me. Doubt we’re picking that high.

I dont expect 2022 to be as good as this one but itll have a few good guys. Chets been projected one for awhile. Michigan will have a top 10 pick from Canada in Caleb Houston.

I think the 2022 draft could be good? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2941414-comparing-talent-in-the-upcoming-2021-and-2022-nba-draft-classes.

Either way.. 2022 is too soon for us to lose our 1st rounder to the Rockets... More like 2024/2025 plus.

Hardy and Cade would be an interesting backcourt. Hardy can really shoot the ball. Chet or Paolo would be nice as well as their modern bigs.

Sam V just did a mock for this a few days ago. Hes saying he doesnt think anyone in the 2022 draft would of been top 4 in this years. Similarly, people said the top 4 2021 draft were all better prospects then Edwards the year before who went 1.

"This class is not considered to be quite as strong as the 2021 group, especially at the top. I quite like Duren, Banchero and Holmgren, but I’d have them below the top four prospects in the 2021 class."

https://theathletic.com/2727138/2021/08/07/2022-nba-mock-draft-1-1-after-reclassifying-jalen-duren-slides-in-at-no-1-paolo-banchero-chet-holmgren-follow/

He is going against consensus on his board at one:

1.Duren
2.Paolo
3.Chet
4.Hardy
5.Nzosa
6.Jovic
7.Baldwin
8.C.Houstan

Thats 5 bigs in the top 6.

I have no idea where Detroit is picking in '22. We'll need to see how Cade and Killian play together to determine if we're a fringe playoff team or a lock for the lottery.

Holmgren has long had a lot of hype because of his height, but I'm not quite sure how he is going to bulk up enough to bang with NBA players. Banchero is an interesting one since he's got height and size to match his talent.

Is Duren a '22 pick? I thought he was in the '23 draft?

Chet has amazing skill, but he is slenderman at this point. He needs to add at least 30lbs to his frame to be able to make it in the NBA.
