I’ll take CP3 if he can develop our guys. I don’t know how any of our dudes developed last year with Elfrid on the court

i wouldn't think twice about maxing out CP3 for a last meal. he solves so many problems for the offense. from there you focus on shooters throughout the lineup like phoenix has. the team identity is already hard as hell. we'd be contending for real with this man. lowry is the next tier from there.
I don’t think he makes us a contender that’s why I don’t really want Paul. We still have too many other holes in the roster IMO
You do realize if we had filled that hole with Paul we would have beaten the Hawks. At the end of the day you can't wait for everything to fall into place. He upgrades Randle and RJ and IQ instantly, thus he is greater than his individual production. For 2 years that's enough. You can't really project beyond then anyway
I highly doubt that. We were clearly outmatched as a whole talent wise

One thing I will say in Paul's favor is (IMO) he transformed that Sun's team into a contender. It does not happen with Booker and Ayton and without Paul. Not a chance.
He still has the drive to lead a team. AND he came so close that I don't see why he won't look at his final contract as his final push to try and get a ring, not just cashing out.
I find the Randle situation peculiar. He was a beast 90% of the season. He choked in front of live crowds in the playoffs. But if Paul could bring the better version of Randle into the Playoffs that is a big deal for the Knicks. And if he upgrades RJ's game as well, there is no reason to think we wouldn't be capable of making a run.
Finally, Paul can play D. He's older and not necessarily going to stop great scorers, but he can contribute on defense. For a team that bought into D last season, that's potentially important coming from your floor general.

If Randle shows composure in his next playoffs, RJ improves and Paul is the PG, then the only major edge they have is Trae. Huerter, Collilns and the rest are not miraculous talents. Their team played better, but the talent gap is overstated.

Mitch is a limited player who is always injured and will ask for a lot of money he's not worth next offseason.
Turner is a great shotblocker and spreads the floor. As you can see, roleplayers like that (Brook Lopez) made a difference for them in the playoffs. It will also allow Randle to work more in the paint. Even though Randle had a great season from 3 point land, he struggled mightily in the playoffs when teams clogged the lane due to useless offensive players (Noel, Gibson) and then made it easy to guard him on the perimeter.

Well, they probably all developed a hatred of Elfrid, so there's that!

He's always injured? Come. On b.
Randle couldn't hit a shot and there was nobody else to take on the scoring load.

Nothing personal but nobody operates like that in the real world unless they are offering from a position of unassailable strength.
Take it or leave it' is movie fiction. In the real world people do not value an object, do legwork on the object (house/car/merger) build orgazational consensus for the acquisition of the object of value.....then slap down a take it or leave it offer.

Myles Turner presents some shooting, but he isn't nearly the defender Mitch is in PnR coverage, which is more important than straight rim protection, which Mitch also provides
I'd be open to moving Mitch if we're taking Garuba or Isiah Jackson though

that is where noel got exposed too. there's very few guys in the league as good as mitch in pnr coverage.

The last few games before the season ended you could tell he was gassed. The whole team was run down to the ground with such a short rotation. Hopefully that changes this year giving more minutes to Obi1
