So I finally joined Twitter tonight. Interesting post ! Would you ?

From Houston’s outlook they dump EG for 1 year of Lamb and get #13. Too good to be true. Houston is like Merry Christmas to us !

Pacers go from pick #13 to #11
dump Lamb replacing with a better shooting EG however very injury prone and expensive 2 yr contract
Obtain Washington
Lose Myles
and get the #23 pick

Charlotte
Gets Myles
Gives Pacers #11 plus a starter Washington

I don’t see any way Charlotte gives this much for Myles ?

Can’t see it happening.

No. It's terrible

To me, Washington is a sweetener to a Myles deal, not the centrepiece

Basically, I'd much rather have Myles+Domas than Domas+Washington

The Pacers trading out of the draft and giving a lame excuse (other than just admitting KP is no good at drafting, so we gave up) was a fear of mine, which I posted about earlier. I hope if they do trade out, they do it for something of real value. Don't need to hear about any more "bench depth" sort of guys. We don't need a better bench. We need better starters.

Pritchard talked all offseason about needing to hit, and hit big, on how important the 13 pick is. If he trades completely out of the draft, he’s set himself up for it to have to be a MAJOR win for the Pacers, or he’s heading towards the door.

I don’t doubt that they’re talking everything. The best staffs do. It all comes down to the best way to improve the roster on draft night and what others are really willing to do.

FWIW, I plan to leave the TV off and watch Chad Ford's live analysis on LockedOnNBA tonight.

I'm curious Wizop why you're always shilling for Chad Ford? I hadn't heard that name in awhile since there was some scandal around updating his past rankings/mocks at ESPN. He kind of dropped off the grid. What is it that motivated you to spend money on his analysis/updates?

I always liked him at ESPN perhaps because in the days before Twitter he'd respond to email. in those days Givony, who is there now, was here on realgm, but there was a falling out over something I've forgotten.

I think basically I got tired of Pacer podcasts by kids barely out of college. theAthletic has all of their local guys concentrating on the Colts. Scott Agness is good. Caitlin Cooper is great but doesn't cover the draft. I'm not a G Doyel fan. Good chance that when the silly season ends in mid-August, I'll move to football but the subscription was less than dinner out for two and for me worth it for the entertainment value.

Fair enough. At the end of the day, following sports is all pretty masturbatory. I get excited for NEWS and then nothing match actually happens, but come the next cycle where NEWS could happen I'll be eager again. I liked Ford fine, but I like plenty of these others fine too. It's all just idle speculation for the most part with teams using these guys to test things out I suppose. Enjoy your livestream.

the drafts just fit my interests. I learned decades ago that I like to shop and plan. I figured this out after I spent a couple of teen age years buying car magazines thinking about what my first car would be. then I got one and it was just a car. the fun was in shopping not in ownership. the draft is the same sort of thing. and just this week I watched my 6 year old granddaughter looking at different dolls online just as I did with electric train catalogs at the same age. maybe she inherited my planning genes.

It is like what is said about many things. - It isn't the destination, it is the journey.

I do this same thing with stereo equipment, for one example. The search for a particular sound is a greater high than actually achieving that sound. Although that is also satisfying. Can't tell you how many times I have put together a system, only to later say "Well, that was fun. Time to do it again." It really is fun.

I'm happy with my Klipsch wireless system but I do the same thing with speakers/amps for my musical instrument. some day I'll upgrade but for now the journey continues.

Back in my high school days I had a Pioneer receiver, cassette deck, and Bose 501’s. I sold the Bose to a classmate because I didn’t like them as much as I had hoped. I can’t remember what I went next but they were so much better speakers that could better handle the Pioneers wattage. Added a technics turntable and a different better cassette deck. Then after college I finally grew out of having a stereo system. Those were the good old days 8-)

Watching live. I do think the pick will be moved but I still would like us to end up with:

1st: Corey Kispert / Kai Jones / Isaiah Jackson
2nd: Sandro Mamukelashvili/ J. Robinson-Earl/ Quentin Grimes / Jericho Sims

I also think if the Pacers guy isn’t available at #13 they trade back obtaining either Lou Dort and a pick, or Cam Reddish and #20.
Pacers guy I think is Moses Moody.

Return to Indiana Pacers
