Maybe we can get them both

Tho i dog him, Moody at 14 is a lock for us.

It's hard for us to make predictions because most of these players have held workouts and interviews with the Warriors FO and we don't have that information. We don't know what they saw there.

I don't think it's at all unlikely that, for example, Moody or Giddey persuaded them from hoping they'd fall to 14 to seriously considering them at 7. Or that Davion Mitchell quelled some concerns they may have had. Or that a guy they thought they'd really like said or did something that gave them pause and moved him down or out of their draft board. But they're going to try hard to keep that information from getting out because it reduces their leverage.

(Crossing my fingers that the answer is “poop in my underwear, and then eat it.”)

He is NOT LaMelo, don't waste a pick to make up for a previous mistake. It would make two mistakes.

Yeah I take back my ‘all in’ on Giddey lol. 14 sure but doubt he’s there.

I dont even like him at 14.. his hype is built on aesthetics

Love the BBIQ but it only translates on offense so far.. he's a really raw player for the NBA. At 7 would be insanity, but then again we're supposedly considering jumping back into the Monta Ellis business at 7 so insanity seems par for the course

Not that it matters to us, but Garuba may be tumbling quite a bit tonight because of his buyout.. if he's not a lottery pick, he's almost assuredly not going to play in the NBA his rookie season. Apparently the buyout is 3mil in Euros (3.56m) and the team drafting him is only allowed to pay 750k, the rest has to come from him.

And here's the kicker: it increases by 1m euros every year until the end of his contract (2025).

Basically, Garuba's essentially a draft and stash, because if he's drafted at 14 and plays this year with us, the first 2 years of his salary are basically cut in half to pay Real Madrid. And if he's drafted in the late 1st, there's a good chance he's not playing in the states until 2025. I think being a SRP would give him more flexibility

To which I say GTFO Philly (if confirmed). You can pound sand while you're thinking about a more realistic offer.

I think aesthetics are a reason Giddey's not thought of more highly. He has an unorthodox and often awkward style to his game which I think turns people off him as a prospect. He's huge for a PG but looks slow and unathletic. Even many of his impressive passes look awkward.

His productivity at a young age against grown men and his maturity is what his hype is built on.

What can the Lakers give for WB?

Jsut need to come up with the necessary salary to trade in. Washington should and will be happy to get out of this horrible contract that is WB.

Warriors need to get Suggs, just so we can see 2v2, Steph Curry/Cameron Brink v. Jalen Suggs/Paige Bueckers.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Well.. he is kinda slow and unathletic. But he's 6'8, so that pretty much explains why. I think his passing is borderline elite, if not elite. My problem is that he can only defend one position for us - SG - and that position is typically asked to be our on-ball defender. He's not long enough to guard SF here (it by far covers the most ground, requires a good, long athlete) and he's not quick enough to guard PGs. Ideally you put him with a SG that has PG size, and you make do. But here? The lack of consistent distance shooting and the lack of defense make him a project

Was gonna do a Winners/Losers thread after the draft ended, and its going to take one hell of a bad night from a team to unseat the Lakers from the top of the loser pile

I really hope we make a play for Suggs. I think him and Curry in the backcourt would be incredibly special.

Yeah, one thing I haven’t heard commented on is the fact that this probably costs them Schroeder as well….. why would he sign back with the Lakers, when he knows Westbrook is undoubtably going to be the PG?

Gotta believe the Lakers are going to try to do everything imaginable to make wherever Schroeder signs become a sign-and-trade, to try to get something back, or at least retain that salary spot.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Pretty sure Schroeder was gone once he didn’t sign that extension.

I love this trade as a warriors fan though. Please allow us to shrink the court even further against Lebron and ad. Please go through.

Detroit select Cade Cunningham.

This draft already off to the fast start! That’s faster than past drafts. Maybe all trying to avoid being in the same room due to Delta Variant.
