Like it okay for Phoenix. It's probably bad value, but fills a need for a win now team. Assumes this is leading up to a Jordan trade for the Nets. Will withhold judgement for them until then.

So is Landry the new backup PG with Payne likely to get some decent offers and many mouths to feed?

It's only a strange move fr PHO if it's their last move. My bet would be they see minutes for Shamet because they're moving someone else

I like it for BRK, Carter's actually a decent backup guard imo and they picked up an asset to facilitate something else.

Shamet seems fine in Phx, not a bad deal for them either.

Brooklyn made a good trade here. Carter is decent as a backup PG plus they get #29.
Shamet is kind of Bryn Forbes or Korkmaz with better marketing.

Shamet has been on good teams the last 2 years and neither time did it feel like a playoff difference maker. Not sure it'll be different in Phx.

Selfishly I think Grayson Allen may have been the choice over Shamet though he's almost a year and a half older ha. Let King K and the Memphis FO use 29 (or 29+40 to move up) and get us another quality young guy.

Some descent defenders around the trio of Carter/Brown. Like it for Brooklyn. Not bad for phoenix but I didn't think Landry would haul in a 1st.

Great trade for Brooklyn.

Shamet is a better shooter than Carter hypothetically but Carter actually has some PG skills and good defense.

#29 is obviously the reason Brooklyn made the trade but there’s a decent chance that Brooklyn got a better player/fit and the pick.

Carter is awesome, but he is not a backup PG. he is a very short three and D wing. Not a good dribbler or passer, but excellent defender and hits open 3s at a high clip.

Like it for Brooklyn. This draft seems so deep that getting an OK 15mpg rookie at 29 isn't outside the realm of possibility--especially when you consider they'll be drafting exclusively for fit.

Yep a guy who would pair very well with a playmaking SG while Kyrie rests

He’s going to be a great fit in Brooklyn alongside their three ball handlers… I really like this trade for Brooklyn.

I don't think anyone sees him as a difference maker in the playoffs - the hope is that he's good enough to eat 20-30 minutes a game, including some time while your stars rest, without getting comprehensively annihilated. Playoff teams need those guys too, and they're rarer than you think.
