It does seem like a bizarre - to me - move to make before the draft. I can't blame the Wiz - having no idea who's going to be there at 53.

My idea is to go ahead and trade for somebody like Kevin Love and pay three guys all the money and bring everybody else in on minimum salary.

Four rookies can just as well as some of these veterans who are basically stealing money on these big ass contracts. I will leave in paying market value but you do not necessarily have to pay people like Davis B what they pay them.

In this draft I would pick up as many as four players or even five with an undrafted free agent added in that mix

Trade for Love, sending three players for one in return
Re-sign Robin Lopez
Anybody else that makes the team gets the minimum
Invite guys like Jack Landale and Omari Spellman at any undrafted free agent you choose plus whoever you draft.

I wouldn't hate trading Bryant, Bertans and Hutchison for Love if that is an option. You can let Rui be a 3 and insert Gafford in the starting lineup. Deni could be your 6th man point forward off the bench and #15 could be another wing rotation piece

Love is a hundred years old. He hasn't been a plus player for a few years. Not to mention that we wouldn't be able to absorb his $31m salary.

Cleveland would love that deal, of course. So at least someone would be happy.

96 man maybe not even a day over 87 years old. I know he’s old as ….Methuselah would be the Bible reference
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Kevin love may be fork tender done and that is entirely besides the point.

What I look at is per 36 minute rebound rates and three point field goal percentages. I compare and contrast the latest year with his career

Love is a better three-point shooter now than he has ever been any other time in his career

The one or he still has the same thing big Wes Unseld had when he was fat and old and that is the ability to box out in rebound

Plus the guy is hungry and I feel like he has a whole lot more left than what we think but he might break and be done I’m not sure
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Thinking about the potential trade with the Knicks....

They are probably targeting someone, say Davion Mitchell, & if he is on the board at 15, they trade with us. OTOH, maybe they get nervous & see if they can make the trade with e.g. the Pacers at #13.

If it's one guy, & if the guy is Mitchell, then I think chances of the trade happening are slim. :(

Here's hoping it's a little group of guys, rather than just Mitchell. In that case, there is some chance we can put together a deal with them.

If he's right, hopefully they just trade down and not for any player. I'd take 19 and 21 assuming they love a guy at 15 and he's there.

Man, if that's for Kuzma, Schroeder and flotsam, I'm going to be dissapointed.
And if that happens, it opens up #15 for a point guard. Shariffe? Mann? oh man

If Wizards can in turn trade them for other players plus picks, then why not?

If #22 is included and they throw in a 2nd rd pick or two, I wouldn't be mad at it

Wondering if Garuba could slide to 22.

Tell me if I’m right about this. If the Sixers do a sign and trade putting them in the tax that would put them subject to a hard cap. Late seconds can be offered the absolute lowest salary allowable which helps teams in that situation right? I think the Bucks did this last year. Maybe they have a trade in the works that would make this pick helpful regardless of who’s there.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

If its for the Knicks picks, with the Lakers pick we would have
19, 21, 22

Wes would get to jumpstart a culture to his own liking. Though if we had KCP/Dinwiddie incoming, there is less developmental room for players like Sharife or Springer.
