If they can get some decent shooters, I'm okay with Westbrook in a small ball lineup. Green back + OPJ? Please?

Don't buy it, If the Westbrook thing is real it will just turn out the FO's genius teambuilding that won that title was just the result of Kawhi spurning them and lucking into an amazing cast of desperate vets. Ever since it has been empty stat, big name signings and net negative talents. Lebron and AD basically have to become the floor spacers because Westbrook doesn't have any area of he floor that can warp defenses. Lowry or Derozan will be better if it's a binary decision.

Even the year they won it didn't feel like they actually put thought into the roster. They just grabbed a bunch of names and things just happened to work out

I'm holding onto the sliver of hope that it doesn't go through but I'm probably just in denial

Can't wait for more "superteam" chatter despite Westbrook being utter trash

Amazing

Drummond being on this team over Harrell too would be pure comedy.

Not a great fit and the worst part is a decent defender who can shoot is going out (KCP) as is a big wing defender (Kuzma) who can shoot though fell apart in the playoffs. I hope Westbrook can at least get back to his 80%+ FT days.

Is AD going to play the 5? AD will have to be 2020 playoffs AD to overcome this **** shooting.

I actually think this could work, but every move from here on out has to involve acquiring shooting. If they’re just chasing names and plan on adding Derozan to this starting lineup the spacing will be outright disastrous

This basically eliminates the possibility of Derozan unless he wants the tax payer MLE

But yes, if they can get some solid shooters I feel much better about a Westbrook-SG-SF-LBJ-AD lineup compared to this trash:

Yeah, I agree in a way, I rethought this trade and

Westbrook
Shooter
Shooter
LeBron
Davis

can be the best-available lineup for Lakers considering assets they have (let's be honest, not so good).

But past 2 years Lakers haven't thought about a spacing that much, they were just lucky that Rondo found a stroke in the playoffs so LeBron-Rondo duet was playable, and Davis is unlikely to play as a center in regular season. So it's much more likely we'll get some dreadful fit alongside LeBron with Caruso or other McGee playing heavy minutes. If they're able to trade Caruso and THT, and plug in some decent shooters, it may work if healthy.

The storylines in a Brooklyn/Lakers potential finals would be more plentiful than any matchup we have ever seen, and I can’t even entertain another one rivaling it. NY market and LA market. Lebron and Durant. Durant playing with Lebrons ex sidekick and Lebron playing with Durants ex sidekick. All of the Westbrook/KD tension. All the Lebron and Kyrie tension. Oh and Anthony Davis and James Harden are also in this series, two of the most amazing basketball players we’ve pretty much ever seen, but there’s so much else to talk about that they’re basically afterthoughts (at least in terms of storyline). Maybe we talk about Harden in the context of the old OKC big three all being in this matchup, yet another storyline in a series that almost has too many of them. Like there is so much here it’s absurd.

Nothing is guaranteed, both have to stay healthy, both have to click. But the intrigue level in this series would be off the freaking charts

Yeah, if anything, if the Lakers somehow make the Finals and play the Nets it would make a pretty sick Finals poster/graphic. How often do you see 6 HOFers in one spot.

If Bron/AD move to the 4/5 nearly full-time then I think it works fine, if not, not so much.
