Honestly, I think he's the best big in this draft.

Phenomenal defensively. A beast on the boards. Great passer. Strong free throw shooter. Post game is insane.

Kind of scared on his mobility on defense when he looks like he’s more of a drop defender than a defender who can step out and switch. His shoes looks like it’s made of steel

Hahaha so is Cam Thomas to tell you honestly.

Guys like Tre Mann and Bouknight looks like Lou Will or Jordan Clarkson.

But here’s the thing. In previous era, and if those guys were drafted in the 2nd round, guys like Bradley Beal and Lavine would be playing off the bench.

If we do keep the pick I'd rather take a shot at a younger guy if only to either to see if we get a steal or to have tradable pieces.

Yup, I agree.

Ayo seems like a really safe top 40 pick. He's a guy that put up points every year in college and got better throughout his career. Just doesn't seem like a special creator, though. And he's doesn't do a lot of the things that will allow him to assimilate (defense, shooting) into a lineup in a bit part (like say Jared Butler, for instance, who does do those other things). Not a guy I'd use a 1st rounder on.

Ayo gives me the John Salmons vibes.

But you know i like him

Easily go for Bones Hyland here.

Hyland 16th on WARP 1.1
1.4 makes on deep 3s
One of the best ISO players in the draft 1.023ppp

Again im just saying he’s a good bet for me. Your guy can end up much much better

Negrodamus,

Presti is quite high on Bouknight so thats something to look at. Maybe there’s something with him. Or maybe he’s falling into the Westbrook trap again

I'm old enough to remember when we sold our second round picks and now we buy them.

Difference is Christopher loves contact, loves to go downhill and a he’s a big boy at the guard spot (was a SF before entering College) so he throws his weight around.

Great to be required size but it’s even better when a player doesn’t have to be asked to use it properly.

Players like that usually fair pretty damn well.

I wonder if that bought pick is going to be used in a trade or both those second rounders are going to be used to get someone closer in the 40 range?

One slips on draft night it could be Christopher.

Would not mind that one bit not at all :)

Some guys are pretty spot on with how the draft turned out.

As always Kobble nailed a lot of prospects such as Barnes who was drafted 4th. Bouk, Ayo, Cam sliding.

Great job everyone!

Hey guys, as someone who doesn't watch a ton of college ball, i appreciate this thread a lot, IMO this is probably the best draft thread on any of the team specific forums. Appreciate you all.

Treat Aaron Henry well. He was sometimes mocked in the first round. He’s a hard-nosed defender who is not a natural leader but willed himself to become one when the situation necessitated it. I see him as a 7-10 guy whose defense and playmaking helps the team by eating up bench minutes without giving up a lot.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Good fun, good banter this year. Springer, Filip, Bassey and Henry is a very solid return. B grade nothing too fancy. Didn’t reach nor did we overlook potential sliders or not go for value.

Some teams are still missing the obvious or making old fashioned overrating selections and getting to enamored with one prospect must get at all costs... that costs you in the end.

- Warriors backdoored a great potential long term wing package with Moody and Kuminga.

- Rockets nearly had the perfect draft with Green, Sengun, Garuba and Christopher. I have Mobley slightly ahead of Green. Everything hits they have their starting unit years from now that everyone will look back on and say this was the draft Rockets built their perennial playoff team on.

- Cavs got the best player in the draft (Mobley).

- Raptors got Green 2.0 with Barnes it’s just that Suggs is Kidd written all over him.

- Magic got Suggs and Wagner so big ticks for both picks. Preston is a nice get to at that stage. A lot of ballhandlers now. See what they are going to in the future. Lot of different options to go forward with.

All in all great stuff everyone!

I'd zero in on 3 guys as of now for Phila, Mathurin as mentioned before, Jaden Springer and BJ Boston

Just was going back through posts and noticed this one. All the way back in February! Nice call.

I like what the Warriors has done. They can either use Whiteside, Kuminga and Moody as trade chips or they can smoothly transition into their next program.

Rox also did a nice haul with Jalen Green, Sengun, Garuba and Christopher. Jalen and Sengun alone are really good additions for a rebuilding team. That GM that replaced Morey is doing really good and probably be better than him.

I also like what the Magic ended up with Suggs and Wagner. Suggs-Fultz pairing with Wagner-Isaac Pairing would be interesting.

Giddey might end up to be a really good player, but I see him more as a guy you add when you already have a core in place. Which I dont see with the Thunders, so for me it was a bad selection. Would have loved Kuminga there and build around SGA-Kuminga.

Kings looking like a George Karl guards heavy squad with Fox-Haliburton-Mitchell. Hey, 3 guards isnt as crazy as it was right now.

28th. Two guys who were very high on my list was drafted EXACTLY 2 spots ahead of us in Hyland and Cam Thomas. Its as if the basketball gods are trying to punish me.
