Plus now I’m going to start having Dennis Schroeder nightmares.

We were interested in Dinwiddie during the season, and reportedly the deal could be Plumlee for Dinwiddie, so maybe we're going after him with our cap space? If we go after Schroeder that would piss me off.

It's weird that this team has a plan and is patiently executing it. LaMelo, Hayward, PJ Washington, Graham, and Plumlee are all excellent passers. The ball is going to fly around the court next season as long as everyone stays healthy.

I have no reason to believe we’d want Schroeder.

Just the first name that popped into my head in that price range.

OK....yeah I don't get it.

Edit: Like legitimately thought Plumless was solid and thought compensation would be going the other way.

This is straight awful for Detroit, barring some miraculous FA signing.

If Mason was this cheap then teams needed to ask for him

Any time Mtich Kupchak rips you off in terms of value, you have some soul searching to do.

I'm legitimately more excited about pick #37 given his track record with the early 2nds

I don’t love this for either team.

Think Charlotte clearly won on value, but I would have taken my shot on Holmes before this. And would have made sure I couldn’t get Wood for 11 before losing cap space.

For Detroit, I guess we should wait to see what they do with the cap space? Now they’re at 20 million so guess they could be the team to overpay Lauri or someone? Even if they land a quality starter with their 20 mil, I don’t think they should have needed to add value to dump Plumlee. Like some third team would have sent negative salary and a 2nd or two to OKC to get Plumlee right? Or were we mostly wrong about his value. Not sure.

He was very solid. Weaver got robbed in every trade he did so far.

I don't think this trade can be viewed in a vacuum. Clearly there's someone in FA (or trade) that Weaver is targeting and this will make sense later.

These were the kind of reactions people had to Weaver's moves last off-season and most of those moves are now viewed as wins.

We got absolutely fleeced in this deal. I think Weaver has some growing to do in terms of his free agent evaluations and I hope he realises signing plumlee to do this Joe was a mistake. Either way it’s not significant enough to hurt us and Im excited to see what deal will be cooked up with the space

Great deal, love to free up space. I can totally see a quality wing FA signing this offseason.

I love this for Charlotte, masons passing will really help them. They kept giving the ball to biyombo at the top of the key at the start of office hoping he wouldn’t stuff it up. Having plumlee create from up there will be great.

Bleacher Report says Hornets after acquiring Plumlee (as a placeholder) were set to take Kai Jones before Bouknight fell.

As far as the Kai Jones trade. Let's see how Kai looks one year developed compared to next year's pick 19. He will comp with pick 10 in my opinion. He's a lottery talent.

Plumlee + PJ + Kai (+ Carey Jr. + Richards + Thor) likely indicates the Hornets have finished spending on center.

Hornets can easily bring back Monk and Graham as tradeable assets on market deals. We are out on Holmes and Allen.

We can still get creative in free agency and via trades. We don't have to spend our money on a free agent center. Teams up against the cap should beware and fans thinking of poaching any of our young talent should quit wasting their time.

You're witnessing a top shelf GM.

All offseason people have posted deals of "dumping" Plumlee for small assets (as opposed to giving them up) and cap space but got chewed out by Detroit fans saying that it would be a terrible move they'd never do. And well, well how the turntables have turned here....

(Also it was said in jest, please don't take it as confrontational haha)
