Cry....... Wasted pick IMO.

When we had Duncan, Parker and Ginoibli i can see drafting developmental players. We need to transition now. Not 5 years from now.

I honestly have NO IDEA what we're doing. He's the youngest guard in the draft, has a smooth game, nice prospect, but WOW a shocker. I expect some trades, right?

Just watching some videos on him again. This is soo depressing. Even if he does develop he will be a fringe player but he is never going to be close to that with that set shot :banghead:

There's just a LOT of volatility in this draft so far. A lot of picks aren't making sense and I think that some trades will go down.

Sengun just got picked by OKC and sent to Rockets for two future firsts... So that's another guy off my list...

I would take someone's pick in the 20's or 30's for Lameo right now. There are still soo many players better than him still undrafted....

Lets have a do-over...

We either REALLY believe he's the BPA or he's getting shipped elsewhere or we're sending someone else out.

My scouting consists of 10-minute videos a month before the draft. We have to give PATFO and scouting the benefit of the doubt. Maybe with subsequent moves we don't expect to be in the lotto next year so we got a player who would've been projecting in the lotto had he stayed in college for one more year. Or we're taking the super long-term view and we will be in the lotto again and stockpiling youth? I just don't know.

**** hell. Kai Jones going to the Hornets who just acquired the 19th pick from the Knicks. Imagine the lobs from Melo to Kai. They didn't draft him earlier, nobody else did, and now they still get him...

Well, we keep being told that Pop doesn't have much input on drafting players. Its mostly Wright who decides I think.

I haven't heard that at all. It's been consensus for many years before Wright came into the fold, then that's how he was groomed, and that's how it's continuing. Pop as not only coach but also President has a ton of say. Pop doesn't do the bulk of the scouting, that's their department, but once a guy's brought in to do workouts, of course Pop has tested prospects, and thank goodness, for instance, RC convinced him to give TP another try.

We'll see what Primo is made of in time - that's key, in time - and that's assuming we keep him.

He's a 6'6" SG, so you'd think maybe Lonnie eventually goes. He's up for an extension starting early August. Maybe it's insurance, too, or something.

It would be the worst if we were picking this for another team and then the other team went like, nah, we change our minds and nice guy Wright was once again left with ass in the wind. He such a straight shooter, known as super honest, I wonder if he's like too nice taking others at face value or something.

Anyway, I'm kind of reeling right now, just trying to find the positives with teams loading up as the first round progresses.

I remember watching some interview with Pop saying he just coaches whomever they draft, then Wright being interviewed after that summing up the same thing.

What really is making me mad is that we could have got Cam Reddish and still drafted Lameo later. At least we would have Cam Reddish

Not sure about the Primo pick.. either someone is moving up to replace DeMar and/or Lonnie/Derrick/Murray, or insurance for future moves.. Another SG primarily.

Meh pick right now due to all the other similar sized wings who are around role-player level.. sans Keldon and maybe Murray.

Eventually this team will need to get another solid big wing with size and agility, Keldon can't be the only one on the team in that mold. Past Keldon there is no legit size to guard bigger wings every night consistently.... 6'6" at least, ideally a bit taller, some decent mass, and good wingspan.. above-average athlete.

Maybe Bates-Diop can turn into that, but he might be more of a stretch four that plays the three at times or not at all.

**** like this is what makes me continue to second guess DJ. Like how about just welcome the young guy to the team, or nothing at all. You're not just a fan out there, you rep the team, you're the supposed self-proclaimed leader. Like why?

Read on Twitter

EDIT to update:

Of course, DJ deleted the tweet. It was him with a grimace face as shown below, with about 15 matching emojis, after we drafted Primo. Then he tried the plausible deniability route. I'm just so tired of the whole game he plays. He's nowhere near 'that guy' who can comment on PATFO decisions, let alone do so publicly, and if he's anywhere the leader he claims to be, these dumb social media games are not the way to go about it.

Why not just welcome the young man to the team? Or 'like' the Spurs drafting him tweet? Or follow Joshua on social media like so many other Spurs did? Nope. Here was his 'denial':
Read on Twitter

It's no wonder about the rumours that he's gettable in a trade. Primo's shown more maturity at 18 already. I keep giving DJ the benefit of the doubt, and keep thinking it's a generational thing so I have to be understanding, but Derrick or Keldon don't pull this crap. So yeah, side note, yet another DJ distraction at a bad time, so hopefully the team nips it or does something about it. Far shorter leash from now on.

Fair enough, but there's some general consensus of a group of players we're comfortable with. That process has long been known as very collaborative.

The only thing right now for me is just thinking that this is but one piece, one that PATFO have fitting into a long-term plan.

So it is the guy we wanted. Hard to believe we couldn't have found a trading partner to grab him literally anywhere else below us for another asset... but here we are...
