He is not undersized. And again, NBA spacing will greatly help his shooting.

I love the pick, James going to be one of those guys that people here are going to act like they loved him all along after bashing him on draft night.

Re: Welcome To Charlotte: James Bouknight
I'm choosing to believe this is our Devin Booker
Same size, same shooting percentages and roles in college, hopefully same future stardom
I actually don't have any evidence that any of that is true but I'm going with it.

Yeah isn't Bouk 6'5? Definitely needs to hit the weights though.

Have a feeling he is gonna be that shooting guard that falls late lottery, and five years later everyone is gonna be like "How the hell did he fall that low" (like Klay, Booker, Lavine, Mitchell). So in typical Hornets fashion, I fully expect to pick Wagner over him and regret it within a season.
Had to bring this post back up…I think ur gunna be right with the top half for sure!

Re: Welcome To Charlotte: James Bouknight
C for me.
I had:
Moses Moody
Kai Jones
Şengün
Kispert
all above Boog in my personal want list, and all those guys were still on the board when we picked.
I don't like that he is undersized.
I don't like that he has not shot the ball well.
I don't like he isn't a good defender.
I don't like that his decision making is questionable.
I don't like that he sounds to be soooooooooo much like Monk.
All that said, I don't HATE the pick, it's just not what I would have rolled with.
I do like that he has a scorers mentality.
I do like that he is athletic.
I do like that he rebounds well for a guard.
I do like that he gets to the FT line.
I do like that he has the extra year of college experience.
I do like that he is a potential contingency plan for post TRo.

Agreed. If Melo and Bouk meet their potential, they're one of the best guard duos in the entire league. They fit together like salt and pepper, peanut butter and jelly, peaches and herb

Agreed. I don't HATE it but I don't love it either. I prefer two-way prospects. He's also undersized, a questionable shooter and a good year older than most other prospects.
Maybe I'm having Monkitis

Re: Welcome To Charlotte: James Bouknight
He turns 21 in less than two months. He averaged only 1.8 apg with a .64 a/to ration and shot 29% from 3pt last season.
Lots of people were done with Monk after he shot 28% from 3pt in the NBA the season before last, but Bouknight shot 29% in college this season while not being that much younger than Monk was then.
Seems like we are hardcore banking on him being way better than what he showed in college.

Hes 6'3.5" barefoot. Hes like .5" to 1" taller than Monk and 1" shorter than Devin Booker.

I mean yeah, he clearly better be able to shoot higher percentages than he did in college.

Re: Welcome To Charlotte: James Bouknight (Pick #11)
That last line of the quote is sticking with me. No chance in hell Monk and Graham are both staying.
