Only bright side for me is that there were definitely worse options at 11. There were multiple players I would have hated to take there, but I don't completely hate the Bouknight pick. I think it was not a good pick, but not completely terrible or anything.

I also feel like I am more open to his player archetype than most people on here, so its weird that I'm one of the few people low on the pick and so many people seem to like it. Ive seen so many posts on here about how one dimensional scoring guards are way overrated and don't have much value, so the love for this pick seems a bit weird. Feels like in a couple years most of the board will have decided Bouknight is a bust and want the team to get rid of him and somehow I'll be the one arguing that hes fine and its ok if they keep him after his rookie contract lol.

I am going to refer to him as the Bookhouse boy though, which is cool.

Utah giving their pick up to Memphis for a salary dump for resigning Conley.

Garuba is dropping due to the Real Madrid buyout obviously. We should take him at 37 if he's there.

a Sharife Cooper - James Bouknight - Kai Jone draft night would be a hell of a haul IMO.

It would not only bring in some great talent, but also address some roster needs and provide roster flexibility (Tae and Monk in particular).

Sharife would be awesome. Butler would provide more value tho due to multiple positions but I like Sharife as well

Good call - Butler slightly bigger and maybe a better shooter as well.

They are almost the same age as well - so it's not like Butler is years older than Cooper, even though Cooper is a freshman.

After reading his scouting report, I want Ayo Dosunmu after not knowing he existed 5mins ago.

Strengths
- One of the best players in the college game. Consensus first-team All-American and winner of the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation's top point guard. Averaged 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 39% from 3-point range and 78% from the free throw line, leading Illinois to the Big Ten Conference tournament title and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
- Big combo guard at 6-foot-4 with a 6-9 wingspan. One of the most efficient pick-and-roll scorers in the college game. Plays with good pace, timing and smarts. Effective shooter off the dribble who can also create for teammates unselfishly.
- Swiss-army knife who excels in the open court, crashes the glass aggressively and communicates defensively off the ball.

Yes to all of that. Perfect Graham replacement.

That breakdown does read very, very well.

Maybe a better Twin?

(the "combo guard" one, not the "defensive" one)

Boston at 37 would be a terrific developmental pick. I can see him running with McDaniels on the wing.

OK - we're guaranteed to get a player at 37. Bassey/Butler/Sims/Cooper/Dosunmu

EDIT: Like Boston as well.

Between the Kai pick protection and now the Garuba availability you're on fire!!

In all fairness: It's been a hell of a day/night for us with all the work Mitch has done. I think all our heads are spinning a little!!

And just because I'm a Duke homer, we may notice that the ACC's leading scorer last year isn't even on ESPN's draft board.

I know who you are referring to, but why don't you tell everyone else who you're referring to.

Butler is the only player left that they can take over Sims that would make me happy. The other is maybe Dosumnu or Teague who I am fans of both as well.
