Apparently Ziaire basically name dropped the entire FO after the pick so my distant distant hope of this being part of a Suggs deal seems shot. Looks like we've been very interested in him for a while.

I'm coming around on the pick as the dude has a ton of potential. He just has a really really long way to go to fully realize that potential. Could have played this better but it is what it is.

Even if he becomes a star, I will not like the pick given time and situation. That said, I am rooting for him to succeed. Welcome to the Grizz, young man!

Still upset, but at least it wasn't the Thabeet pick. I immediately threw everything around at my TV.

I didn't hate the Williams pick, just taking him over Moody made no sense. I had Williams in 11-15 range. Williams might have been the highest upside pick outside of Sengun at that point. They worked out Moody so maybe there was something our FO didn't like about him.

I mean there were reports Orlando was strongly considering Ziaire at 8 so clearly other teams valued him too.

I am ready to trade the Utah pick for one of Houston's upcoming picks. Garuba or even Keon please.

Cam or Springer would be solid gets for us I think. But we'll see since it may be a steep asking price to move up in this draft relative to normal.

Grizzlies traded into #30. I love Butler, but idk about the guaranteed contract and I am not sure about the heart situation. Go Isaiah Todd.

We gave up #40 and two future 2nds. Worth it? Should have gone a different route? I feel like this guy may have been there at 40...

This could be my best call of all time (the top International scouting services, ID Prospects etc that are way more detailed than ESPN did not have him ranked in the top 30 for his age for most of the season). I honestly think he has a shot to go top 10 if he plays well in the Olympic Qualifiers this summer. If the Grizzlies draft him, this would be the icing on the cake.

With regard to ESPN, I don't think it is a coincidence anymore that my content matches what they have been putting out. I posted about only two prospects during the tournament. Around 3 days after each post, DX posts about the same two prospects in the exact order I had them mentioned. I have met the DX guy several times and he used to follow me, but I am not a fan anymore. They did the same thing with Aldama after I posted about him on twitter.

What. A. Call.

No. I like Santi, but I believe he is a draft and stash guy who is going to play in Europe for a bit. Santi has good potential, but he is an awful rim protector at the moment. We just got rid of Jonas.

This is quite a bit for #30. I think we were banking on Christopher being available.

I am just surprised because almost every guy I posted in this thread that declared withdrew: Satrika, Gui, Ibou, Jaden Ivey....

I reviewed about 10-11 guys this year so not that crazy. But, he was one of the only ones who stayed in.

I thought I mentioned him more on here. Well in case I didn't post it before, here is a prospect breakdown: https://jtmbasketball.blogspot.com/2021/02/diggin-in-tape-part-1-santi-aldama.html

Honestly didn't think we would take him because he is not a rim protector.

Did the Clippers just trade a 2nd and cash for a pick 3 spots lower than the one that cost us two future 2nds and #40....

Same but it looks like Memphis may have been all in on this guy for a while. Read the middle paragraph when you click on the image:
