No way I want Simmons on our team.

We need bigger guys, because we have too much guards.

Shai
Giddey
Mann
Jerome
Maledon
and .......Kemba Walker

We have so much salary-room.

So my wish is, that we go after free-agents like J.Allen , J.Collins, R.Holmes

I would be ok with pursuing Allen.

Yeah posted in the other thread. Probably top 20 protected? That's fine.

We can keep him or flip him for a 2nd.

I think Simmons in OKC is more likely today than it was yesterday. I hate what Presti did but his moves are better if the goal is to collect even more assets to trade for a young star.

Still think Morey is asking too much for SImmons so not sure I like it. Also Giddey/SGA/SImmons is weird.

I'm not predicting it will happen. I'm just not really sure what direction we are going at the moment and how Shai factors in to future plans.

Simmons is more of a C/PF. Example of what he can was against the wizards when Embiid was out injured.

they can't from what I read

If their pick conveys in 2022, they have to wait two years to trade it. So that leaves 2024 as the earliest if I'm understanding it right. I'm reading the tweet as the protections are all for the same pick, not seperate picks they've traded since they can't trade back to back years.

Yeah when I wrote my post I was thinking about trading for Simmons to play with at the PF position (which would be the only excuse to not draft Sengun since he's undersized)

yeah but you can't trade a 2024 pick if the 2022 pick you owe to another team may only convey in 2024.

That's why it's conditional. It COULD convey as early as 2024 to us. As long as the Jazz don't finish with a top 6 pick next year, it will convey to us in 2024 unless the jazz get number 1 that year.

Simmons is another player who can't shoot. We have already enough bad shooters. And he has a special character.

I’m all in on Simmons if OKC can acquire him at a reasonable price

There is a very real chance that none of the first round picks they received from pick 16 actually end up as first round picks because of protections
