Nope. PG’s have all taken a DEEP fall in the draft so far, on average.

Interesting that none of our players who were rumored to be potential trade targets have actually been traded. On the other hand, I don't remember A. Holiday being mentioned much at all in trade rumors, and he is the one who is gone. Maybe the time period between the draft and free agency won't be boring after all?

I wonder if Kyle Mangas will get a FA camp invite?

The roster is currently one player short with hypothetically FA Doug McDermott and Jakar not coming back also minus Aaron. Add Duarte and Jackson plus TJ McConnell that makes 16.
So if no other moves made then Stanley becomes a roster player, we add a FA, or we sign a 2 way undrafted prospect. Who knows could be more trades coming.

I’m guessing he gets an invite and maybe a spot on the Ants.

Must be Stanley’s replacement on 2 way as he fills Aaron’s roster spot. Unless for some reason they rescind Brimah 2 way.

I would bet that the drafting of Jackson impacts Brimah’s holding onto his 2 way spot. I would guess that we sign Stanley to an exhibit 10, allow him to compete for the 15th roster spot, and otherwise, convert him to a 2 way spot and waive Brimah? Or, if Stanley wows, maybe he makes the active roster?
Either way, his route to being a contributor on the main roster just got a little harder with Duarte being drafted at the 2, and the emergence of Sumner there, too.

Undrafted signing. Exhibit 10 for summer league and maybe camp.
https://letsgopeay.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/terry-taylor/9199
A Senior, 6-5 guard/forward that was back to back Ohio Valley player of the year. Not a great shooter, but a terrific rebounder. Averaged over 20/11 his last two years, and 20/10 over his 4 years at Austin Peay. More turnovers than assists, averaging only 1.4 assists per game over his 127 career college games. He’s a bucket getter and rebounder. Probably a good target to direct to Ft. Wayne. Was not listed on many top 100 rankings for this draft.

Though, yeah. He’s likely a competitor with Stanley for a spot. Oddly, they were high school teammates for one year in California.

Re: 2021 Draft Thread
Let's see if I have this right:
Aaron is gone. I assume Sampson will not be back. Duarte and Jackson replace them on full contracts putting us back at 15 if TJ and Doug are resigned.
Stanley and Brimah were the two ways at the end of the year. Brimah looks unnecessary with Jackson on the regular roster and so Washington gets his spot.
If we can't resign Doug, we have a choice between finding a veteran or converting Stanley to a regular contract and getting a new two way. my money would be on a veteran point guard barring any more trades. I think you need to have 3 point guards and I don't think LeVert or Stanley answers that need. Is Naz still around?

Doug’s gone.
Naz Mitrou-Long is a free agent, but I think we’d likely look to use that spot elsewhere. I think they’re probably planning on Brogdon, TJ, Levert, Duarte, and even Sumner as PG’s. Could always have a trade to really shake up the roster, but it would HAVE to be a consolidation that clears a roster spot.

yes, we have a lot of combo guards but we're at 14 without Doug. I can't see a position other than a pure point guard filling that hole. we have lots of wings and 5's. you could make a case for a 4 rather than a 1 but I don't want to put someone ahead of Brssett assuming we stick with Turbonis. I'm going to look at Hollinger's free agent value list.

I love this chart.
Shows us the breakdown of the financials,
roster composition, and player’s situation.
Shows the Pacers currently don’t give out player options.
Shows really only 10 roster spots filled (which are also subject to changes due to trade possibilities).
Shows us Sumner is cheaper $ than our first round pick Jackson so wise to keep him.
Shows us for minimal cost Brissett, Martin, and Stanley could be jettisoned or kept.
Shows Washington and Brimah 2 way for 0 salary.
Shows Stanley as a 2 way cap hold so something will eventually change between these 3 players. Interesting details.

The Pacers trading out of the draft and giving a lame excuse (other than just admitting KP is no good at drafting, so we gave up) was a fear of mine, which I posted about earlier. I hope if they do trade out, they do it for something of real value. Don't need to hear about any more "bench depth" sort of guys. We don't need a better bench. We need better starters.
Just noticed that league rules state that a team cannot trade a 1st round pick solely for cash, so your fears were for nothing!

The story of my life. So many rules, so little time.
