Still not a big fan of the Westbrook trade, but withholding final judgment until we see how the rest of the roster shakes out. If the Lakers can get some good shooters around these 3, and move AD and LeBron to the 5 and 4, it's a pretty good lineup.

The Lakers played with Dennis and Drummond next to LeBron and AD last year. Westbrook is no worse in terms of spacing than Dennis and provides additional value in more ways, and if AD is at the 5 then an additional wing on the floor would mean better spacing than last year.

I thought I was being too optimistic about getting OPJ for mle

But he is a huge injury risk

If you guys could have Batum or OPJ, who do you take?

I go Batum

Is Rudy really going to take the min?

Imagine if Buddy still happens and Dennis is in this deal to a team like NYK and we use exception

Russ, Hield, Batum, Bron, AD
AC, THT, Wes?, Gay?, Gasol

Sign vet min lob threat
Sign some more vet guards and wings

I like that lineup a lot.

Bring back Markieff and have LeBron, Batum, Gay and Markieff as your all interchangeable/ switchable forward rotation is not bad.

Awful teambuilding by Lebron and the FO. Literally the only positive is having a big ticket high cost item to barter for disgruntled stars. Westbrook, THT and picks for the next star. Curious to see whose alpha comes out top when they clash on a losing streak. Can probably also say bye to caruso, is no longer a fit in the backcourt

Hopefully this is the season Bron turns into a high volume 3 point shooter. He shot 37% from deep on 6 attempts per game last season with the bulk of his attempts as stepbacks. Westbrook on ball should translate to more catch and shoot opportunities for Bron. I would like to see him take 8 threes per game.

The problem with Gasol as a spacer is hesitancy. His two 3 point attempts a game didn't give defenses much to think about. He should have had his attempts skyrocket playing with AD and Lebron but instead they fell from his time with toronto. With Westbrook it's going to take far greater floorspacing value to make the offense work consistently. Basically AD playing center or bust.

I’m probably good with moving on from Kieff if we can get Gay tbh

He’ll just pout again about not getting min

If he wants to serve as injury depth for the min, I wouldn’t mind if we can’t find a better depth piece

Hoping we went for Russ so we wouldn’t have to worry about hard cap and can bring both back

AC>>THT btw

Wouldn’t mind moving THT either for a young guard who can shoot it better

imo they are both contenders to be traded between now and midseason because of the backcourt fit. Also Caruso is one of my favourite roleplayers in the league but if you had to pick one and move another for shooting you'd hold on to THT for as long as possible. Someone is going to pay premium for his potential alone, not really about who's better. Ideally you want both signed and can think of the hypotheticals after.

I wonder if Love gets bought out. Terrible contract, and he didn't do anything with Team USA to convince anyone to trade for him. He would be a good fit next to AD.

I rather stick with the guy who has been there. Remember I am a chemistry guy. I also like the fact that he can provide some goon work if needed.

Depending on whether the Lakers are able to acquire a good enough starting caliber small forward, Markieff could actually just start at PF alongside LeBron and AD next season.

Let us not forget that LeBron, Markieff and AD were the Lakers best front court combination in the bubble.

Perhaps there could still be some magic there?

Gay had one of his best defensive years ever last year. He was also nearly 40% on spot up threes. He would be an excellent get.

Which means there is a 90% chance the clippers or nets get him

I’m potentially worried about losing AC

Some tweets by Pincus make it sound like we’ll bring him back for a cheap price (6-8m), but we won’t pay a premium for him

That would be an F- by Pelinka and Jeanie

Jeanie better pay up the bill, this team has 1-2 legit more years of competing

After losing KCP, AC is a must

I would bet Vogel will go to bat for him

I would assume Lebron would, but I’m starting to doubt his GM skills

And I for sure doubt AD’s

Seems like a low IQ guy honestly

Is Hield still a possibility or is he out of the question with Kuzma gone?

So I think Westbrook and AD potentially could work really well. Also Westbrook can carry a large load and lessen the burden on lebron. Some positives Imo.

I liked when Gasol was aggressive towards the end of the season. I hope we see more of that

Even though I don't agree with all the Westbrook takes [I think LeBron will tame the Lion to some degree], its times like this where I quickly lace up my sneakers and run as fast as possible for as long as I can in the opposite direction of the General Board.

Huh? He's a 20/15 guy. He's worth closer to the max then the mle smh

Very rarely do I visit the General Board these days and when I do, I'm reminded why I don't in the first place. The takes in there are equivalent to the comment section on Instagram and will drive you mad if you try engaging in a conversation. If it wasn't for this board and specifically this thread I'd go nuts.
