Watching that Open Gym Scottie Barnes...his jumper does look better. I look forward to seeing him use it in Summer League. I can't wait now!!!

The thing is, if Barnes was a projected top-3 pick all season the majority of us would be over the moon with this pick from the moment Adam Silver said it. And for all we know Scottie was top-3 on the Raptors board all season. It's all about perspective.

Not really, you can actually see both guys and what they produced and the success they had with their teams and what not. It's not about mocks.

Gonzaga was a much deeper team, with a much weaker schedule.

I refused to read all of it but pre draft someone posted advanced data pulled from a site with full breakdowns using charts etc that showed suggs and barnes being pretty comparable production wise so idk if that narrative is true

Idk, Suggs averaged more points, assists, rebounds, steals, almost had the same amount off blocks. If we up Barnes's numbers through Per 36 Suggs still has more everything except blocks (I think he has 3 less blocks than Barnes). Aside from pure stats, Suggs can dribble better and has better burst off the dribble in halfcourt.

One thing Suggs doesn't have is Barnes' size and that might help us in the long run in the comparison if Barnes develops better shooting and handling.

I mean, using that logic I could argue that Jimmer Fredette was 10 times the prospect Suggs ever was, but we all know that's not true.

Jimmer his freshman year in college put up 7 points, 2 assists and 1 rebounds. But if you're argument is Suggs could bust, I guess. I hope he does so we don't feel bad for not drafting him.

Woj noted that ORL & OKC had Barnes above Suggs on their boards. I hope they both turn out great and we have many many exciting matchups between their teams. Will be fun to watch. I'm not upset, even though I was a Suggs guy.

The only little doubts I had were from his IG where there was a lot of paid promotion adverts running which I thought should have waited till actually after the draft and some of his commentary which people took as confidence/leadership and I thought had a little too much ego in them.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

I wish nothing but the best for Suggs. I think he’s a stand up guy with a good head on his shoulders. Maybe thinks too highly of himself but who doesn’t these days. I was on the Suggs bandwagon cause this board convinced me. I trust MU over the general consensus of realm even if he gets it wrong.

Yeah, Nurse, Bobby and Masai know what they're doing.

Still a bit bummed we didn't take Suggs, but I'm coming around on the pick more and more with every glowing report and interview/media session I've seen with Barnes in the last 24 hours.

I don't get the stance that some people have that Barnes/OG/Siakam can't coexist. They're all very versatile and have pretty varying styles of play. The thought of the Barnes/OG/Siakam trio with FVV wreaking havoc on the defensive end is extremely exciting to me too. Not sure who that 5th player may be right now, but that has to be a top defensive lineup in the league.

Two of the three can't shoot right now. If Barnes learns to shoot or if Siakam can shoot like he did from 2018-2020 again, then that lineup becomes a lot better.

According to who? What a funny thing to proclaim before any of these guys have played a single game in the NBA.

Blake Murphy tweeted that Scottie apologized for being late to the media session because there was traffic coming back from the gym.

cant wait to seee OG, Siakim and Barnes on the floor together. Gonna be a scary lineup for opposing teams.

Not too worried about us not taking suggs. he reminds me a bit of brandon jennings.
