After watching him closely, I dare say he reminds me of Bradley Beal

What Happens in FA will determine if the starter or not. I would hope he is the starter since he has a decent enough game, unless we get some stud SG in trade/fa

I'm fairly certain he isn't going to be a starter. Thibs is the coach. This isn't a rebuild. We are not going to start a rookie. come on

your fairly certain, so that means your not 100% sure, so there is your own come on  . starting Grimes does not indicate a rebuild in my eyes, especially depending on the options of what we end up with a SG after the offseason.

I'm not 100% sure the world won't end tomorrow, however it's just my opinion, based on the evidence available to me regarding the individuals involved in this decision, that it is highly unlikely that he will start. maybe he will, stranger things have happened I guess

i'm just saying don't get too disappointed when he's playing obi toppin minutes at best in year 1

so basically you quoted and said "come on" based on nothing. I simply said in the first post that unless we get something thats really good in FA/trade,(I'm not a fan of bringing Bullock back) that I would hope he is the starter. I really see nothing wrong with that statement considering at this point none of us know anything about how all this plays out this summer. I said that he has a decent enough game that he can start in my eyes. It would obviously be based on if he is given the chance to.

it's not "based on nothing" because I don't have absolute degree of certainty that the historical trends will play out that lead me to believe your hope he will start is misplaced, but keep hope alive I guess, sorry to pee in your cheerios

I think best case scenario could be that he doesn't start but plays so well throughout the season that he eventually wins the job, but even that I think is a pretty long shot based on what I've seen from this administration

edit: I would stress that my outlook on this isn't based so much on Grimes talent or ability, I do think he could be a starting caliber player, but more about Thibs and the way he operates, and it's ultimately his decision

Absolute unlikely ceiling is Klay, more realistically Courtney Lee.

Not bad. Wasn't Courtney Lee basically traded just about every year? Seemed like there was always a team that wanted Courtney Lee and was willing to trade for him

Until he became a Knick. Then we were sort of stuck with him. :D

Read on Twitter

“Everybody knows I’m a high-level shooter, I’m a high-level defender, but I feel like people label me as a 3-and-D guy; I feel like I’m a lot more than that,” Grimes said. “I can play pick-and-roll, make plays, create plays for myself and others. I feel I have an immediate impact shooting the ball at a high level for 3s and locking down defensively.”

There would be no issues if he had a Courtney Lee career. That is a 10+ year career multiple time nba starter. 40% from 3 with good defense. I would sign up for that right now.

I think most like the pick because he was picked right around where he should. Some my squabble about how high his upside is but I don't see how he isn't a quality NBA player.

Some wanted more of a dynamic playmaker. Bones went right after us so were on Ayo/Butler ect. But the fact we got Duece late really rounded out the draft nicely.

I had Grimes as a in the 20's type prospect. He plays both ends and he should be able to fit along any type of players we try to acquire via FA/Trade.
