https://www.forbes.com/sites/justinbirnbaum/2021/07/21/now-that-giannis-antetokounmpo-has-an-nba-title-heres-how-much-money-he-could-make/?sh=6a5020a27c37

Antetokounmpo joined the NBA from Greece in 2013 and in just a few years rose to become one of the league’s biggest names, signing a five-year, $228 million extension with the Bucks in December. He also earns some $25 million annually in endorsements, with partners that include Nike, JBL and Budweiser in the U.S., as well as Sarantis and Protergia in Greece. That’s the fifth-highest off-the-court haul in the NBA, according to Forbes’ data. Derdenger estimates that number could climb to between $35 million and $40 million based on Antetokounmpo’s success and international appeal, bringing him within range of Stephen Curry.

“This is a person who can promote Louis Vuitton as well and effectively as Nike,” says sports consultant Marc Ganis. He adds that Antetokounmpo could be even bigger, doubling or even tripling his current endorsement mark “if he chose to make that a priority.” That could put him up in the stratosphere of LeBron James, who led all NBA players with $65 million off the court on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid athletes.

It’s an opportune time for the Greek superstar. With James’ career winding down, Antetokounmpo’s newfound champion status could could make him a viable option as the future face of Nike basketball. In 2019, the sneaker brand released the Zoom Freak 1, which was the largest initial signature shoe launch in Nike basketball history

I am 85% with you. Almost typed the exact same thing before I read your post.

But Brooklyn will still shape their roster, there will be dudes who ring chase there and vets who want a year partying in NY. They also could upgrade from Joe Harris (with a trade, or just get a better playoff run out of Joe Harris). Also no secret they would love to trade Kyrie.

Is it? I never heard anything about that. They didn't play together much, but I didn't see any problem with the fit. Their offense was lethal and Harden is more than happy to be the main facilitator

There have been some published reports that they knew he was a flaky guy, but this past season of taking leave without permission, partying maskless in a bar, and calling others pawns broke management/ownership. Who knows, I can’t imagine a lot of contenders want him. The three max contracts and Joe Harris sort of cap their moves and if they have to trade one of the big three I bet its Kyrie. If I had to guess Id think they try to see all 3 healthy and playing together for a few months.

Brooklyn should trade Kyrie for Westbrook. That would make me sports entertained. Get it done Vince!

I mean, far from me to tell the Finals MVP who has been improving literally 8 years straight how to train in the summer. And this is literally the only guy in the world I would recommend this to. But I was wondering if there would be some benefit for Giannis to get out of the gym and the grind in the summer and just go play some pickup. Just go find those games in some university campus or wherever those NBA dudes get together and just hoop for hours. You know those games where nobody calls 3 seconds or too many fouls, and really the only way to score is just streetball and shoot and pretend you're Kyrie for a while. Just put the ball in the basket a few hundred times, have some fun, soften his touch a little, get loose. That's the kind of thing Jabari used to do every summer, except Jabari skipped all the other structured team stuff. Giannis has done nothing but structured stuff all his life, probably more than anyone, so maybe it's time to just hoop? Probably better for his sanity as well, kind of rediscover the simple love for the game while getting some cardio in instead of pumping iron all the time.

Yeah just ridiculous. Availability is the most underrated asset in sports.

Its the 75th anniversary of the NBA next season. Should be fun seeing Gianni get his "Top 75 at 75" jacket next to some of the legends.

Eh, i think that stuff is overrated. Hes much more comfortable and confident now. I think he will continue to focus on his mid range, hook shot, fade and free throws instead of trying to prove to the stat geeks that he can become a good 3pt shooter.

Not that pickup games with fellow NBA players is a bad thing. Just my opinion but if I were him id seek out multiple workouts with Kevin Garnett and, by extension, maybe Kevin McHale too. KG was a similar, wiry, athletic and super intense player at the PF position. But he also had one of the best ever at that position to teach him positioning, footwork and touch. Garnett then developed into a lethal mid-range shooter and very good FT shooter that extended his career.

Learning nuances and subtle things about playing 17 feet and in will help Gianni optimize and elongate his game. Especially from two of the greatest to play that position. I think he's already worked with KG before, but nothing wrong with revisiting that well.

KG was on par with Giannis defensively, but definitely worse than Giannis offensively.
He was also the guy who worked with KAT, who remained positively stagnant, and also the guy who said Thon Maker will be an MVP.

But anyway what I meant was maybe it's time to not "work" as such, just play a little instead. For sanity/longevity/variety purposes, whatever you want to call it. Just change it up a little bit while still breaking a sweat.

Gianni didn't grow up in the AAU culture, I'm not sure he's suddenly going to seek out random pick-up games during the summer. Or, who knows? He might.

And while Gianni is a more dominant offensive player than KG was, Big Ticket had a better touch and was lucky enough to have been taught big-man fundamentals by McHale. Reason why I mentioned his name is because I'm sure that's a workout session that could be easily arranged. I'm sure he'll have plenty of relaxation time in Glyfada sipping on frappedes this summer.

Giannis and the Bucks are the opposite of almost everything that's wrong with today's NBA.

Giannis needs to workout all summer with Bobby’s shooting coach, Lethal Shooter. Bobby shot 47% from three after working with him. Get that fadeaway mid range shot down Gianni.
