Was listening to The Bill Simmons Podcast and he had Kevin O'Connor on. KOC said he has heard some Fournier to the Knicks rumors during draft night. Not looking good especially after the Richardson deal today.

So far i really like what Brad is doing, he might be flourishing in this new role.

He traded for players that have very defined roles without killing our cap space in the future. He created competion within the roster but everyone has a chance at minutes because they do very different things.

Has Brad read my new signature? He acts the way i hope he would.

If Fournier gets 25 mils from the Knicks, so be it, but if it's 20, I think we should match that.
Good assessment:

I wouldn't give Fournier anything close to 20M unless it was a one year deal. One trick pony. Josh Richardson does other things that Fournier does not do. It's pretty clear what Stevens and Udoka are after: defense.

I wanted to see more of Fournier. When he was good for us the offense looked like it could be special. However, when he couldn’t make a shot, his defensive deficiencies really stood out. It seemed like it had a lot to do with Covid and lack of time to mesh with team.

That said, Josh is a really good alternative if Fournier does leave in FA. He may also be inconsistent offensively but at least he can be part of strong defensive teams and he has the ability to get hot and win a quarter or two in a playoff serie. We haven’t had a veteran off the bench capable of that since Marcus Morris.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Apparently for now. Tacko's better than he is--don't see him staying.

Oh, Fernando is much better than Tacko. For starters, Bruno can run the floor and finish. I wonder if he will play Summer league.

Let's see if anyone will sign Tacko as a free agent or on a two way. If the Celtics bring him back, it must be to a full roster spot.

Some interesting speculation in this article:

"Meanwhile, there’s no guarantee that the Celtics will hang onto Dunn, according to Weiss, who says the former lottery pick could be flipped again. Weiss suggests that two viable options for dealing Dunn could be to the Cavaliers – along with one of the Celtics’ young players – in a deal for Larry Nance Jr., or to the Pelicans – with Marcus Smart – in a Lonzo Ball sign-and-trade."

Of the two listed potential trades involving Dunn, which do you prefer? The one that brings back Larry Nance, or Lonzo?

I like the Larry Nance Jr one, a bit better.
Not really ready to give up Smart.

Pretty sure either deal would have to be folded into the ATL trade.. otherwise we can’t deal Dunn for …60(? at least)… days. Smart/Dunn would match Lonzo.. Dunn/Nesmith Nance?

Spotrac still shows the Thompson/Dunn trade as “pending “, so, if accurate, the prospect of spinning off Dunn in an expansion of the trade still exists.

Yeah. I was noticing that the contract isn't finalized.

I don't think any of this Ball stuff is legit. Doesn't seem like they want a big, long term contract

Certainly seems like Celtics are lining up to clear max cap space next off-season, or a potential mid season Beal trade. Either way I think the Marcus Smart chapter is coming to a close.

I'd love to do the Lonzo for Smart deal but I'm guessing based on past history thats 100% not happening since the Celtics view Smart as pretty close to Tatum and Brown if not the same level.

Cleveland was last in 3 point percentage, so am guessing they'd want Nesmith.

If they don’t pay Lonzo they have to make the same decision on Smart anyway
