Trade Mitch for someone (because will be able to pay only 48 mill over 4 yrs). Somebody will easily top that offer and Knicks will have to let him go for nothing. Sorry to see his tenure end.

So 25 + 25 is 50 mill. That’s the cap space of the Knicks this season.

Use over the cap to retain, Bullock, Taj, Rose and Burks.

I am assuming Randle and Obi will be on the floor together at times.

1) Mitch extension is limited to 56/4 contract (14M/y). This extension would be given to him during the season. There are no limits to what we can pay Mitch in the 2022 offseason. Anyone can give him a 25% Cap Max contract. Although he's a UFA, we have Mitch full birds rights. That means we can go over the cap to pay him. We have an advantage in the bidding war if we are ok to overpay him. But if Mitch signs with an opponent, we dont have the right to match.

2) We dont have the full birds rights from Bullock, Taj, Rose and Burks. That means we can not go over the cap to sign them. We have the early birds right of Rose and Bullock. We can give them around 11M/y if we keep their Cap Holds in the book. Bullock caps hold is 5,5M. Rose Caps Hold is 9,8M. I think we can keep Taj for the vet min.

3) We cant vary the salary from one season to another by more than 5% (in some situations 8%).

I just read that we can renegotiate with Mitch this year to bump up his salary and offer 4/51 starting next year.

Rose might not be coming back. He seems to have mutual interests in going back to CHI

I been saying this since we got eliminated. Rose and the Bulls always seemed like a match this summer, especially if they missed on plan A &/or B.

I mentioned because we have his bird rights (per say), maybe we could sign and trade him for more assets

mitch has had 3 years to prove he can play 36mpg

other than cutting down on fouls and becoming more disciplined defending the pnr what has he improved on?

are we gonna give 14m/yr to a guy who hasn't improved on offense? If that's the option, we should trade him for Myles Turner immediately.

Too expensive.

I mean, they saved that $2.3m in the draft and you could cut Luca, so it really comes out to be about $9.6m - which is essentially the MLE. And you get a guy who shot 47% from 3pt and the superwichtigenkulturelleneffekte of having a player who know hows to be an NBA champion and without whom Giannis wouldn't have won a ring.

Somebody about to get overpaid, we targeting Holmes, or we really like Simms or someone else. Hopefully it’s overpay for Lowry, sick of not having leadership at the PG position.

Pelle was cover for injured players. Contributed nothing. Thanks for the effort, etc, but sayonara. Taj is a mortal lock to be one of the back up centers. Finding a third is child's play/not relevant. Only if Mitch gets traded do the Knicks have to find a C. And I hear Deandre Jordan is available again.

Yup. Taj is penciled in. He's basically Herb Williams, but without needing those Dolan Epstein pictures to keep him employed for 20 years.
