favorite and least favorite sun of this season
This isn't a poll or who you think is the best player on the Suns, it's who do you personally like the best and least, the criteria can be anything you choose be it attitude, playing style, personality, where they are from etc also i can see this turning into a bashing thread of a few of our favoite scapegoats and my choices probably fit that description to some degree
Current favorites are Cam Payne and Mikal Bridges, they are both humble, hard working and hungry, both seem well liked in the locker room and get a long well with their team mates, wish both had a little more alpha in them but over all just really root for them both to succeed and like to watch them play
Least favorite is Ayton, I loved his improvement in the playoffs, think he is very underrated defensively and stopped looking lost or lazy so much right up to the finals, He has learned how to navigate around the big slow strong centers well but if the player is equal to him athletically and he cant out jump or run faster then them he seems to quit working hard, he obviously got intimidated in the finals by Giannis. But the kicker was his post game presser after the game 6 loss, Monty is in tears, Booker looked like he just lost his best friend and Cp3 looked like he wanted to fight someone and Ayton was smiling, laughing and joking about how fun it was, I wanted to scream at him through my screen and can't imagine that didn't grate on some of his teammates too, Before the draft I was thinking man I wish we could trade him for Mason Plumlee and the 1st pick, not that Detroit would have but i would have in a heart beat. Just don't think he will ever have the heart and fight to be as good as we need him to be to win it al
ok now it looks like i just made this thread to vent on Ayton but still curious who everyone likes and or doesn't like on current team

Bridges. But I like everyone. I don't think there is a reason to dislike anyone. Every single player can be frustrating at times, or the vast majority of them, but not enough to dislike. It's not like we have a Morris, Brandon Knight, Josh Jackson, etc.

Hard to pick between Payne and Mikal.
I have a feeling Deandre becomes our fan favorite next year

Re: favorite and least favorite sun of this season
Ive got two favorites which are Payne and Bridges both improved and played great from start to finish. Obviously I love Ayton, Paul, Booker and Cam but the other two peaked my interest.
Least was Damian Jones first month after that probably Kaminsky sprinkled with a bit of Saric.

Re: favorite and least favorite sun of this season
Payne and Bridges are tied for favorite. Payne was such a pleasant surprise, love his fire, and attitude. Bridges is just fun, he always put a smile on my face whether he was being goofy or just playing good basketball.
Least favorite was probably Carter. Nothing against him, but I was really disappointed we didn't get Bubble Jevon for the full season. It always seemed like he tried to do SO much when he got the ball and became a little bit of a black hole at times. I felt for him because I know he was fighting to get more time, but it really frustrated me that he didn't seem to know his role.

This is me, except the Bridges part because I really enjoyed everyone. I disliked probably everyone at one point or another except maybe Payne who I probably had the most confidence in whenever he was in the game. In fact there were times I’d wonder why Payne wasn’t in when the Suns would be in a deficit or why Payne was running plays instead of just scoring at the basket lol.
Couple of times I disliked Paul, Book, Bridges, Crowder, Ayton, Frank, Saric. Probably didn’t get on Cam Johnson or even Nader too now that I think about it. Didn’t care for Galloway, Moore, or Carter too much to be honest.
Bridges was probably my favorite starter, CamBros my favorite bench guys.

I genuinely think this is just who Ayton is. He's a positive, happy, glass half full type of guy. I'm glad Ayton had fun playing in the Finals. I hope that makes him want to get back there.
We have this perception in sports that guys need to be these tough, gritty, all business type dudes and that's just not realistic. Some are certainly like that. But keep in mind, Ayton has probably just had the best year of his entire young life, he played winning basketball, came close to winning a championship, improved as a player, became a father, etc. Can you blame him for enjoying the experience?
You need a blend of personalities to make any team work. You need guys that are going to go to the guy who is sulking after a loss and say, "hey man, this was the best season of our career, wasn't this so much better than watching on TV? We're about to run this back."
I appreciate Ayton being honest and being himself, rather than trying to be who the sports media or fanbase wants him to be. We don't get to the finals without Ayton's play in the Lakers, Nuggets and Clippers series, so I'm not really trying to point fingers or ship him off.

Yeah, I think it's dumb to figure guys don't enjoy making a playoff run and getting to the finals. I guarantee Booker enjoyed it a hell of a lot better than winning 19-23 games a season for years.
Ayton also said he and Booker will hold each other accountable going forward since they know what it takes. He's a hard worker. Great attitude. Good guy. No trouble. Already raising a kid. Responsible.

I'm guessing either Shamet orrrrrrr......... Jaleen smith when we sign him off the summer league team and he takes minutes from Cam J and confuses you about which is Jalen and which is Jaleen.

Payne should be everyone's favorite imo. Kaminsky is my least favorite, followed closely by the fan's who keep irrationally stating he's a "solid vet". He's had like 3 good weeks as a Sun in 2 years here.

Hard to get behind a "sharp shooter" or "sniper", who shot worse than almost our whole team from a fg%, and half of the team from 3. And it cost us a pick.

If anyone takes minutes from CamJ, they better be a borderline all star, or our coach doesn't care to put his best players on the court.
For the season, my favorite players were the Cams and Craig. Cam Johnson stole it in the playoffs. Dude just made smart plays, shot very well, maybe we should call him a "sniper"

To be fair, and after that absolutely dumb unneeded trade, Jones could grab someone worse than Shamet, so there could be a different less favorite player. But it might be tough to find a worse "shooter", at least on our roster. Only Crowder and Alexander shot worse, and they are currently on the team still.

Unpopular opinions incoming:
Most Favourite - DeAndre Ayton, growth and impact putting it all together surpassed my expectations.
Least Favourite - Devin Booker, just frustrates me dribbling into contested jumpers non-stop and it cost us.

Re: favorite and least favorite sun of this season
Favorite - Ayton, with Payne as runner-up. I can't take my eyes off Ayton, and while he can be a little bland, he's just so critical to everything we do on both ends, anchoring our defense and threatening the offensive glass.
Least Favorite - SARIC. Oh man, talk about night and day, compared to what we saw in the bubble. He was the worst version of himself for all but a couple games last season. Couldn't hit the three - and if he's not giving you offense, he's a liability because of his inability to defend or control the paint. Watching Olynyk light us up was a real eye-opener. That's what Saric (or Kaminsky) would be if they could actually hit an open shot.

Re: favorite and least favorite sun of this season
Bridges/CamJo/CamPayne/Booker/Craig/Ayton all had turns as my favorite.
Frank gets an honorable mention for being a goofy ass mofo that everyone else hated, but seemed like a dude everyone on the team loved as a teammate.
Saric got my most hated because he looked like he was playing shotput out there most of the time and bubble Saric was a tease. Nader was meh. Damian Jones had it locked up but luckily the Suns saw what I saw and got rid of him ASAP.

Re: favorite and least favorite sun of this season
Favorite Sun: DeAndre Ayton. Loved his effort in the playoffs, still has tons of untapped potential left. Hopefully this past season is something he can build on and improved his game step by step. If he can develop into a go-to player on offense, that would be invaluable for this team.
Least favorite Sun: the Morris Brothers. I know they're not with the team anymore, so technically they don't count, but still...**** those dudes.

My least favorite this year though is still Robert Horry.
