One thing I would caution on with Kuminga.

Like buying a new car….it will quickly lose value the second you drive it off the lot, unless it amazes you right away.

So playing and learning in the G league isn’t going to hurt his trade value. But if he’s playing in real games and really stinking it up, the value could go down.

Whatever it takes for the kid to develop his skills and to develop his confidence.

Kerr really messed up with Wiseman by immediately putting the kid into the starting lineup at the beginning of the season. So what if Wiseman was the #2 pick, and so what if the team blundered by drafting Wiseman instead of LeMelo Ball. Wiseman needed, and still does need, a developmental plan which will allow for him to improve and build confidence.

Every player, if they play poorly, loses trade value.

It certainly seems the Warriors are not looking to trade Kuminga.

They are definitely looking at trades all the time. And your statement about every player losing value - duh

But I was talking about maintaining his trade value in case a deal they would move him for arises. There’s an solute zero reason to force Kuminga on the floor if he isn’t ready.

So to me it would be prudent on two fronts for him to go straight to the G league and not force anything with the big club where he might lose value early. Because his value is high right now.

But, and this goes without saying…..but if he gets the offense right away and proves in Training Camp that he deserves minutes immediately, then fine.

I don't think they intend to trade him at all, and the reason to get him on the court (happening in a few days) is to maximize his possible improvement.

Nice vid! Some of the clips are not on the other Kuminga vids around the internet.

And on behalf of the Warriors community ( 8-) ), be welcome to the forums!

Looking forward to see you around.

Initially, when they said Kuminga’s raw, they meant EXTREMELY RAW. So…. Are we in no way competing for 1-2 ‘ships anymore? He’ll likely spend time in the G League developing his skills.

Both Jacob and Myers said recently (I’ll find the links; I’m paraphrasing and interpreting what they’ve said) that they’re looking more towards a sustainable future as they try to battle deep into the playoffs and develop their young pieces, simultaneously. Trying to take the page out of San Antonio, but the aging players will need to take a discount at some point to make it work.

Thanks! I started studying English at 12 years old, lived abroad at Canada after college too, and use it daily at work.

Mylie zé ruela! (now Google that for laughs).

They don't need to take a discount if the team drafts well.

Watching the Kuminga highlights some more, one of his strengths is that he has zero difficulty finishing around the basket with his left hand. He’ll bury a defender at the elbow with a move and then they cannot recover because he will finish with whichever hand is protected. And by finish i dont just mean dunk. Anything around the basket is in range for his left hand.
