Well it looks like we traded a future 1st rd pick to the thunder to dump him. Damn that sucks. Lindsey the dumbass continues to come back to bite us. There better be some serious protections on the pick and then turn into a couple seconds.

Giving up a first round pick for a player you signed a year ago....... Can the Jazz sue the guy who signed DFaves in the first place for malpractice?

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

The Conley trade just continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. This is now three 1st rd picks that we essentially traded for Conley.

This is the culmination of series of bad decisions. We've spent 3 first round picks and 4 second round picks for backup centers over the last 4 years. BACK UP CENTERS. The least valuable position and most easily acquirable. And we still don't have a back up center for sure.

Think Udo isn't ready yet? Should free up PT for him, no?

That may be true for the other 29 teams in the league but the entire success of our team is based on the performance of C for 48 minutes. The whole defensive game plan is built upon funnelling the opposition into them and on offense setting a scream and being a roll option. Quin lack of adaptability in the way he uses our back up C and the way he sets the team up when Rudy is off the court is the reason we have burned so many assets trying to find a solution.

So freaking horrible. Giving up the 1st to dump Favors is such a HUGE mistake! This is the path to irrelevance.

Considering Favors would cost the Jazz roughly $45M just this next season, it is not a surprise. What led up to his signing and now trade was.

I wish the Jazz would have signed Justin Champagnie to an UDFA deal of some sort. The guy had crazy stats during college, and could surprise.

4 if you count Grayson. Just disgusting.

Bet Conley ends up missing almost as much time as playing. Such a horrible price the Jazz paid for that trade.

Can't believe moving Favors cost a FRP though. Seems steep.

Long time no post. Hope everyone is doing well.

Due to the pain of the playoffs I didn’t even watch one draft video and had checked out until today.

I took the time today to watch some videos of Jared Butler. Holy s*** he is good. What an excellent pickup at 40. And looking at how he handles the PnR and how good of a spot up shooter he is I am blown away. He is going to fit in Quins system like a glove. He easily has the potential to he a borderline allstar secondary offensive player in the mold of CJ McCollum. He probably won’t ever make the Allstar team due to his lack of athleticism, but he could be a high volume efficient bucket getter. If Quin actually plays him, I will be shocked if he doesn’t have a couple big games for a rookie. And in 2-3 years he should average 18-22 ppg 4 assists 4 rebounds if healthy and all that.

So that pickup had me feeling a little better and thinking Justin knows whats up. Then I see this Favors trade....

Someone please explain to me why we traded him BEFORE we signed Conley? What logical reason could there be? I understand why we are trading him due to cost and being able to use the full mid level, etc. And if it was a good trade where the Jazz benefited I could see the rush.

But considering it was a pretty bad trade for Utah I don’t get it. Why before?

I am not even going to get into resigning Mike for 3/75 as reported. I will just say I am not a fan.

The Jazz and Butler are in full silence mode on his heart and knee issues. Are they more serious than we are led to believe?

Wow Butler is solid. Have a feeling it'll be an exciting backcourt with him and Clarkson, or their trio with Forrest

How so?

Whenever the issue of his heart or knees have been brought up by the media, both the Jazz and Butler refuse to discuss it. Hopefully, this isn’t another Curtis a orchards (sp?) draft pick.

Just watched the Baylor Gonzaga game and I think Butler was the best player on the floor. At 40? Wow.

Butler fills a huge need. Hopefully his medical doesn't get in the way of his progression. This is probably my favorite draft pick so far of the Zanik era. The 2nd one being Elijah Hughes who I think will eventually be in the lineup sooner rather then later.
