MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.3

Sorry but i gotta vent… Im telling you all right now, i rather blow it up and acquire assets and build around Bam, rather than bring in old guys that will be useless after one season.

Ive been calling for blowing up ever since we got swept. If this front office thinks Butler is going to remain the same player he was in the bubble, two years from now.. and they wanna offer him a 4 year extension? thats asking for a straight path to the lottery.

I said it, lets trade Butler now. He has shown signs of breaking down. Lets not wait till he is a complete shell of himself… now we wanna add two more dinosaurs next to him… and possibly give up Some young players for it.

We can get first round picks and other assets we would need to acquire a special talent.

All these teams like the Lakers and others are able to make moves because they dont empty their tank on “almost” superstars.. we empty our tank on dragic, we overpay players like waiters, jj, tj, ryan anderson… olynyk…

We have got to rethink how we do this… its always the Heat trying to do the most with little.

This team isnt blowing it up and trading Jimmy on the eve of FA. You KNOW they arent doing that. I get venting but as I said in the last offseason thread, lets be realistic.

Riley will never do it. He has little faith in younger players. He will trade every draft pick and move every young player to get a guy who's been there, done that.

I hope to hell it works out for him this last time. I tell you though, watching that mess of a roster littered with past their prime players was not fun at all. Hard to be a "fan" when that's the product.

This is so ridiculous. Our team is gonna so old over paid and wack. I hate DErozen! Hate Lowry... I'm so mad we let Iggy go..Now we cant trade for Beal or Dame, kiss them goodbye. This is so wack were gonna be treadmill 2nd round bust for 4more years. Hopefully by then Bam in his prime at 27 can lure Mitchell and Tatum here. I am done venting.

I'd call it a ticket to the 2nd round in the playoffs but not much after that. And trading away assets that we will need in a few years when Butler is gone. And Lowry lol dude is 35 and in Basketball there isn't too much left after that. Maybe 1-2 years. In fact I feel this is a bandaid type off-season more than a play at the NBA Finals.

We didnt actively tank after Beasley was drafted but we were holding off on any big signings until the summer of 2010.

We were in tank mode a few years ago with Whiteside, Waiters and James Johnson.

The only real assets we have are Herro and Bam. There isnt a superstar trade to be made that guarantees a Finals run next year, so it looks like they are preparing to put together the best team they can around Jimmy. Whether we like it or not thats the plan.

I don’t see anything realistic S&T wise with Iguodala. He’s 37 and extremely limited at this point of his career. If something was going down it would have happened with the 15 opt in. He’s probably only worth the BAE at this point or vet minimum with the Warriors.
