We still may be getting Kuzma & Harrell .

People need to keep in Mind Monte is not Vlade he is all about analitics .

The Kings team was a huge mess when he took over this team . What Buddy & Marvin did last season via comments , tweets etc. did not help his cause . He is revamping this team mainly all aside from Fox , Hali , trying to resign Holmes if possible & maybe Barnes but even that is abit questionable .

No 1 deal is going to all of a sudden set our line up or the core . All that will take 2 -3 maybe 4 moves to get there .

This is why none of us are GMS in Monty's case he is playing chess . He has to look 3-5 , moves ahead .

I would encourage everyone here to wait until he makes his next 2-3 moves and see what this team looks like etc. at the start of the season rather than jumping over the cliff now .

Can’t stand Tristan Thompson, horrible pickup IMO. Guy is completely one dimensional, literally all he can do is rebound.

At this point, Monte has shown a bit too much analysis paralysis. Counter party GMs aren’t going to wait forever. He lost a first from ATL, LAL bailed, he held onto Barnes and Holmes. Chess has a time limit too.

Exactly but every good team has one and sometimes two really good and dedicated garbage men.

Kings should consider giving Jarrett Allen a big offer. Cavs drafted Mobley so they should be reluctant to match. One way to make this work financially is S&T one of Buddy, Bagley, or Barnes (I want to keep Barnes but if it's necessary you make this deal) for Allen.

If the Kings are truly preparing a big offer for Holmes you might as well go next tier for the 23 year old Allen. Bobby Marks predicts Allen will command $18-$20M per year.

You’ve been reading my mind again man!

I’ve been thinking all along if Holmes is $20 million per and Allen is supposed to get the same, I’d throw an overpay that CLE can’t afford to match with Love still being dead money on their cap.

I would do this 100/100 times over and let Richaun walk as it’s a clear upgrade.

Well we were one of the worst, if not the worst, rebounding teams in the league last year so the help on the glass is sorely needed. I don't expect him to be starting either, so picking him up and clearing some of the logjam at guard is a plus for me.

I could get behind this. I have been a big fan of Allen for a few years. I don't like paying big men that amount of money without being a real key piece but there are limited ways for this Kings team to improve and I just don't see Sacramento making a play for the POs unless Monte can make a key signing (like this as how many players would want to come) and making a big trade with Buddy/Barnes/Picks as the offer.

Trade idea:

Kings 2022 1st
Buddy
Bagley

For

Jerami Grant

According to Fanspo the deal is legal and saves the Kings roughly $13M. Sac would get a legit PF with cap space for Holmes (or Allen). Detroit gets a valuable 1st, serviceable vet who contributes immediately, and a prospect player with bird rights.

Fox/Mitchell
Haliburton/Davis
Barnes/
Grant/Metu
Holmes/Thompson

Would like that for Sac but don't see Pistons doing unless 3rd team for Buddy. As don't think he would wanna come off the bench there and they are gonna wanna be starting Cade, Hayes, Bey. Maybe they could play Buddy in there for spacing. But I would not want Buddy in a locker room of a young developing core.

I also don't see that many reasons for Detroit to do the trade that way. Especially, if Buddy will be unsatisfied with his role and it is still unclear how Bagley will develop (he is a hard worker but I think there are some issues with his health) and how other teams see this.

Otherwise, the trade idea if nice.

Anyone want to go on the record of liking the Tristan Thompson acquisition?

Not asking if you understand the reasoning, but if you actually like the trade?

I've already gone on record a couple times saying that I like the deal.

I hate it. I would have asked for some sort of compensation for taking on Thompson, and some sort of compensation for trading Delon.

The fact that both of those things happened without us getting any compensation is not promising at all.

I understand the reason for wanting Thompson, as others pointed out he's a garbage man with championship experience, and rebounds above average. But you mean to tell me we couldn't leverage anything out of Boston or Atlanta?

We didn't clear any cap space, I would have rather waited a week. NY, Pelicans, Raptors, Miami, Chicago, and Washington all rumored to be wanting a pg. I feel like whoever would have lost out in free agency would take on Wright pretty easily.

Wright has more value than Thompson IMO, wouldn't mind that deal nixed at all (as is). Maybe the deal turns out to be better value than first appears in the coming days

Not a fan, but I acknowledge that he brings a few skills/qualities that the Kings are severely lacking (size, rebounding, experience). I don’t like sending out Wright for him, but I know Wright had more value to the Kings than the rest of the league (pre-draft).

I think that I have been clear that I think it’s a good roster balancing move and fills a need while clearing a glut of guards.
