Honestly with Duncan coming back I would be willing to deal Herro for a young front court player. I think we are wasting his talent if we continue to bring him off the bench in year 3.

This. We shouldn’t have two white one dimensional players who are un athletic and play no defense.

thats fine. Will give Derozan even more time and keep Herro happy early in the Year. everyone else slides up a spot.

The way we play, Bam/Jimmy/Derozan can all handle the ball when Lowry is off the floor.

We don't have any contracts to match. Looks like we go into the season with Duncan and Herro again. Unless Miami gets creative and trades Iguodala S&T and Herro together for something. Will have to be at a destination of Iguodala's choosing. Possibly a S&T for Oubre?

I'm sure I'm off by some but roughly looking at the numbers for a Lowry, Oladipo Butler, DeRozan, Bam lineup with Herro, Gay, Strus, Vincent bench...

Hard Cap - 143
14 man roster

S&T Dragic, Precious, draft asset for Lowry at 26 mil x 3 years
Lowry, Butler, Bam = 90 million.
S&T Robinson to SA for S&T DeRozan ~25 mil(maybe he gives a bigger discount)
115 mil 4 players.
10 more players for 28 million.

Add Strus, Vincent at ~2 mil per year
8 more players needed 24 mil
3 undrafted players for 1 mil a year.
5 more players for 21 mil.
Herro at 4 mil
4 more players at 16
KZ at 1.8
3 more at just over 14
UD at minimum but cap hit 1.7
2 more at 12.3
Oladipo at 2 year 10 mil player option(decline and resign next year with no hard cap).
2.3 left, vet min with 7 or less years experience.
0 - no wiggle room

There are places to adjust money like with DeRozan, Oladipo and at a lesser extent Strus and Vincent.

While I like the breakdown, can we rework this without Dipo and keeping Robinson? Also why are we giving UD (who is the man and no disrespect is intended towards) a roster spot that we could throw another undrafted big at to see if something of future value develops? I am not opposed to bringing Dipo back, but would prefer not to if the cost is Robinson.

Let's make this clear, UD is not taking up a roster spot that could go to somebody else (young big). You have the entire G- League team for that.

My only question is, how many players are you allowed at practice? Do the Heat have a practice squad that they play against or is it just the roster and that's it?

The reason I ask is because I have always thought that we need a 7 footer on the roster for the team to practice against. This way when they are in games against legit 7 foot bigs they already have plenty of practice against them. If they have a proactive squad with some 7 footers on it then I guess makes this mute.

I would definitely love to see Duncan back if we can get him cheaper than what we thought he would get. Maybe the market isn't as strong for players who are just pure shooters.

I like it, very good depth at guard and wing but -

PF scares me. Not enough IMO, too thin, old, we need another legit big next to Bam.
