Westbrook also just made Caruso surplus. This is where I can sympathise because a lot of winning players will be getting shifted away from their proven winning roles so he can run offense that might not even be that efficient or impactful.

THT and 1 unprotected pick won't net you a superstar. They will have another pick by the end of the year, but still THT , '27 and '29 is a package for a high end role player(depends on THT's perfomance and contract), not even a star

I mean...surely you didn't think that was supposed to be the whole package. I'm talking the part of a trade package that considered sweetners eg like when people talk about THT in the Lowry trade.

Not as good of a shooter as Porter though

Is he though?

35 this month

His LEBRON AND RPM are negatives

Positive In RAPTOR though

I rather have Batum, but who knows

Maybe him and someone split the mle for like 500k or so bonus from the vet min?

RAPM puts him as an elite defender but a below average offensive player. I assumed we were talking about the tax payer MLE so I don't think $6 million is too much for him.

But yes there are better options. I think I would prefer Batum as well.

But THT would be the center piece of the theoretical package, cuz they won't have anything outside of big 3, TMLE guys and vet mins for the next 2 years. It's not like they have good value deals or up and coming young guys

I'm actually thinking more along the lines of Westbrook being the salary filler if they ever want to go in a different direction. The only way they look for another star is if they pull the plug on the experiment. I should have specified that condition so my bad. Kind of shows how pessimistic I think of the trade that I'm already operating on the timeline where the experiment didn't work.

Rudy Gay has missed more time than Batum has the last 5 years. 78 games vs 103 games missed

Batum is also younger. It's really just that one season in Charlotte where he missed ~50 games

Didn’t release gay had missed so much time, also thought Batum had missed more. You’re right it’s not that bad out of that one season.

I can just see this team getting no one it needs and losing potentially Caruso. Would be very typical of this front office.

It doesn't make sense to me to trade for Russ then get stingy on the tax. You know what you're getting into when you trade for a $45M salary. Plus, Caruso would be one of their only two trade chips, along with THT. They're not gonna trade any of the big 3 contracts, and the rest of the roster is just minimum deals.

If they lose Caruso, it'll be because of penny pinching and that'll be so disappointing.

Doubt lebron would allow the fo to be tight so that’s not that concerning to me.

I do doubt the front offices ability to put a decent roster around what they’re already got though.

Brooklyn getting Porter would be a extra blow. Guess I shouldn’t worry too much a healthy Brooklyn winning anyway.

Seems like theyre on board trading Deandre too thats worrying. He was just 10 mill rotting on the bench last year.

Yup, both suck for us

But OPJ’s health concerns are real

Kyrie is very injury prone

It was a miracle KD or Blake didn’t get hurt

Hardens lack of conditioning may also be catching up to him

I want Batum for the mle if we can

Gay for the min

I think mle for Gay may be too much, but who knows

Mills is nice, but too small and I want AC back

I assume THT is back, but I would love to move him for a better fit

Lol, this version of THT isn't getting u a star

We have a 2027 1st left and a couple more 1sts (but cant trade until the draft) and some 2nds

Not enough

AC is a better player right now than THT and a better fit

THT is an awful shooter and bad team defender

He is good at getting to the basket....but we have Lebron and Russ

I would move him for a young promising guard or wing who is more of a prototypical 3 and d guy. Or a nice 3 and d guy on a cheap deal (hopefully 2 years left)

We better no cheap out here and pinch pennies

The window is legit 1-2 years away with this core

Go ALL IN

AC, THT, Hield?, use the mini mle and then vet mins

What does adding more shooting to Brooklyn even do for them? They need leadership defense and intangibles.

That's not a matchup swinging deal.

I think Porter can be really good defensively

No news yet from Dennis, or the Lakers, Kings, or Wizards. Maybe that Russ trade can still be expanded to include Buddy.

For that matter, no news from Caruso either. Lakers *need* to retain him.

No news yet on Mills, Rudy Gay, Otto Porter, Danny Green or Dwight. All were connected to the Lakers.

Read on Twitter

I would think the Sixers would outbid the TMLE tho. They cant really afford to lose Green (or any shooting) atm. Thybulle/Simmons as starting wings would be terrifying from a Sixers fan perspective.

Ariza to the Lakers

Hasn't looked good the last few years, but not bad for a vet min

Power shift move there. Nah Ariza is worth the gamble if it’s even a gamble.

Dwight and Danny would be huge. Forgot they both went to Philly. It was a mistake losing those too.

And signing Dwight hopefully means no Drummond
