I’m fine with the first-round pick, don’t get me wrong, as long as it’s not super protected. But we’re right back in 10th or 11th in the East now with a trash backup PG.

Damn I thought we'd pay him more than that

Right around where I thought he would get paid.

Hmmmmm. Not sure how I feel about this now.

Graham at that price might be better than whatever 1st round pick we are going to end up getting.

Not a bad return for a 2nd round pick.

12m is probably perfectly acceptable for him.

I guess "experts" don't have that much expertise when it comes to value.

Maybe he's JLin 2.0 and just didn't want to come off the bench.

i thought this as well, but I guess it makes sense if you want to be a starting point guard, you don't want to be on a team whose franchise player is a point guard.

What happens if the pick lands in the lottery though?

I really did not expect us to have to go PG FA hunting.

While how we seem to have ditched Monk and Graham.

Very curious what our plan is.

Geez, yeah gonna miss him at that price. I hope protections swing our way, cause I think they're gonna be right back in the lottery.

Also yeah, I didn't really expect to be missing Graham and Monk going into next year.

I legit thought 4/$48 made sense for him (it's what we gave Kemba for his 2nd deal), so $47 feels matchable, but I won't complain about recouping the Kai pick.

Graham just doesn’t fit what we’re trying to do. He had devolved into a 3 point chucker, too often abandoning any effort to develop opportunities for others. Hopefully we can sign a good reserve PG who can distribute, defend and score when needed.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The first round pick is nice but damn, 12 million for Devontae in his prime years really wasn’t a bad contract to shell out
Hmm
We better bring in Mills or make another deal

If Hayward stayed healthy, LaMelo kept up his pace and PJ got any better, 6th to 8th.

Last time we made the playoffs was the last time we had a healthy team with two good PGs. That trend continues again for another year.

All hands on deck to find a backup PG now.

Honestly, Graham at 12m per year is probably better than whoever is left.

We think we're gonna get screwed by giving a bad contract. We end up being screwed in a completely different way.

The draft pick is nice, but I'd rather have swapped him for a player. I highly doubt NOP make the playoffs next season too.

$12M was right about the range that I thought it would be 50/50 on if we would match or not. I think it came down to who they would rather pay (Tae or Terry). So in this scenario we get a $12M trade exception, a first round pick and an easier path to retain Terry next summer without luxury tax concerns.

I'm happy for Tae who worked his ass off and I will be pulling for him to do well in NOLA.

Honestly at this point I’ve gotten so used to 34-48 or 35-47 it’s fine, just run it back again. Can we get Round 3 with Ramon Sessions? Maybe Felton?

also, Terry Rozier may be the backup PG which allows Gordan to slide over to SG and frees up more minutes for Miles...
