This Nunn situation should benefit the Heat.

Now 36 yo vet (albeit good one) can sign 4yr 120 mil contract and play forever and 35+ olds everywhere just chilling out collecting paychecks. everyone is friends and it doesn't really matter who wins because they are actually all winners who share profits in a vacuum.

just like 10-15 years ago if you're 35 you're really on the verge of retirement and you're often forced into retirement coz it's too competitive. I might be reading too much into this, but I suspect I'm not way off :dontknow:

Or... modern medicine, dietary research, and fitness are at an all time high and players can play longer.

That and the game is less physical with a lot less contact around the basket. The wear and tear on players is less to coincide with the increases in sports related medicine and kinesiology. You have a good point, also players are more skilled now a days which extends a player's career with the decline in their athleticism.

Still have 3.7 BAE and 2.2 left of MLE. We still have a spot for Markieff or Rudy Gay.

Lowry shot just under 40%, Robinson is lights out, PJ Tucker needs to be respected, and Herro can absolutely destroy from outside.

I want us to bring back Dedmon, sign a player like Danny Green, and keep developing our youth.

I'd rather have signed Wayne Ellington to the 1 year min, and thrown money at a legit PF.
Ellington is trash.

Ellington shot 42% from 3pt last year. That's better than the 90 million dollar man who shot 40.

Ellington would be a catch and shoot player to space the floor. He's lethal at that, what you mean he's trash. Put Ellington in the corner and his man will have to be glued to him or else Ellington will rain 3s on them all day. Space the floor specialist.

And neither he nor Duncan can play elite defense so that's a wash.

PJ is better than Ariza, so can't really complain there.

Let's hope he is still motivated after winning.

Yes, it would satisfy Spo's sadistic kink of handing Nunn DNP's.

Wish I could like this twice.

I love Duncan, and will root like holy hell for him, but this is what I was afraid of.

All I see is another year of getting killed on the boards and generating zero fast break points

Personally for me, I can't get into the NBA as much anymore. I mainly watch it out of obligation and loyalty for my team, and some good playoff games and series.

I enjoy the drama. Such as player movements and more drama come along with it. It has become such a big soap opera. It's still enjoyable, but I don't feel it's as competitive anymore. Rules have gotten pretty lame too (to protect the product, which does make sense so it is what it is).

Duncan also had defenses adjust to his style of play, while the Heat's offensive scheme didn't evolve. If Ellington was covered the same way Duncan was I imagine his percentage might dip a bit. Both Herro and Duncan faced defenses that adjusted to them being focal points of our half court offense without us being very creative in how to get them open. Increased defensive attention is going to lead to a decrease in quality of shots. Our starting lineup now has PJ and Kyle who are both solid shooters to prevent an overload on the defense on Duncan without getting punished. This last season people left Nunn and Ariza much more open than they are going to be able to afford to with Kyle and PJ.

This Tucker move may be one of the first times ever that I went to the GB and was calmed down compared to how things are going in here.

We are going to be a tough out in a series.

I think Duncan percentage is a bit lower because he attempted more?

Duncan 250 made 613 attempted
Ellington 116 made 275 attempted

Duncan played 72 games vs 46 games played by Ellington

You decide.
